Dr. Angie Watson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and certified Doctoral Addiction Counselor of Louisiana with over 20 years’ experience in counseling and mental health services. That is over two decades of experience, helping adults, adolescents and children learn new ways to improve relationships and manage depression, behaviors, anger, grief, anxiety, and many other emotional issues, as well as promote rewarding experiences and positive outcomes. My primary goal as a therapist is to help you prioritize issues and move forward from self-limiting behaviors with a positive action plan. It is completely understandable that admitting you need support to make changes in your life can be scary and overwhelming. With support, this process could be made easier. It is a therapist’s job to help you decide what changes you would like to make, how best to go about making those changes, and to help you increase your motivation and confidence to move ahead in your life.
Dr. Watson completed her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Social Services from Alcorn State University, received her Master of Social Work from Grambling State University, and earned her Doctor of Social Work from Capella University.
Dr. Watson utilizes relational, collaborative, strength based, cognitive behavioral, mindfulness based, solution focused and emotionally focused approaches to therapy always maintaining the creativity, flexibility, and awareness necessary to best meet the needs of every unique individual and couple.
