After being diagnosed with Osteoarthritis at age 46 I had an abundance of thoughts on how will I live a normal healthy life.! While seeking treatments I finally was forced to the conclusion of surgery being the only option. In March of 2025 as I was turning 47, I also had my first Total Hip Replacement. Long story short it was the best decision I've ever made. I had the Best Orthopedic Surgeon (Dr. Jeffrey Stoker) in Boston hands down. My care team was emaculate. Top Tier!!! As apart of my recovery I have also been introduced to another Dream Team. Iris and Ash at Professional Therapy are an Top Tier duo. My first day they made me feel like family. They cared that much about getting me back to living life healthy and strong. I have made so much progress in recovery. I actually have strength again. It feels great. They created an workout just for me. Very challenging but rewarding. PT is very accommodating, will do their best to fit you in for optimum results. My recovery feels more like brunch with friends that are trainers. The workout is hard but the laugher makes it painless. As I prepare for my second Total hip Replacement, I'm already looking forward to getting back to PT. Once I return to work full-time I will be sending all my patients to Professional Therapy. Ash has had a love for sports from a young age playing sports like Baseball before transitioning to combat sports like boxing and BJJ. After experiencing injuries and going through the rehabilitative process as well as experiencing what being a rehab aide was like, he was convinced physical therapy was the field for him. The holistic aspect of Physical therapy with exercise being an essential component was the biggest draw compared to other fields for him. He earned his degree in Kinesiology with Cum Laude distinction at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. After a hiatus to travel and work, he completed the DPT program at Umass Lowell with an award for Excellence which can be attributed to his work for promoting DEI across the department. Since working with Professional Physical Therapy, he has completed the IOMT fellowship and obtained a specialty in orthopedic manual therapy as well as certifications through the NSCA and Clinical Athlete for working with higher level athletes to return them to sport.
