More about Dr. Cosimo Carrieri, DPT, PT
Cosimo completed his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Montclair State University. While attended college, he sustained an ACL tear and subsequently underwent reconstruction surgery. It was during his recovery process that he fell in love with physical therapy as a profession and the relationships build upon the healing process.
Cosimo went to graduate school at Rutgers University where he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Cosimo has a deep appreciation for how the human body functions and how it heals through movements. He has additional training in the Mennell approach to joint mobilizations focusing on “The Big Four”, being the hip, ankle, wrist and shoulder. He intends to complete additional coursework to earn his Orthopedic Clinical Specialist certification in 2023.
When he’s not treating patients, Cosimo is often training for triathlons. He recently completed his first race this year at the Ironman Maryland. He enjoys reading books about real estate and mindfulness. Cosimo is also very involved in fundraising for charities, recently raising $3,700 for COVID relief organizations and helping to improve availability to healthcare for low access communities.
