What stood out was the ease at which I was able to open up with her on the very first appointment. It was like speaking to someone I knew, who was really objective about the issues I discussed. I received tools to work on to help track my progress and to improve my communication skills. I expect this experience with Dr. Williams to be very helpful by the time this journey ends.

I am caring, compassionate, and a very good listener. I am a Christian, wife of a Veteran, mother, and grandmother. My heritage is Caribbean-American. I grew up in South Florida with four sisters and two brothers. I was very independent at a young age and always willing to help out wherever needed.
I am a musician, starting with piano in elementary school, then clarinet in middle school, and bass clarinet and bassoon in high school. I love music and find it beneficial in every aspect of life.
I chose to grow my family before pursuing a career. Later, I decided to enter the mental health field because a family member was diagnosed with a severe mental health disorder. I earned my Associate of Arts in Psychology, then a dual bachelor's degree in Psychology and Behavioral Science from the University of South Florida. After completing my undergraduate studies, I went on to receive my Master’s in Social Work from the University of South Florida.
I have worked with Veterans, homeless individuals, hospice patients, young adults, children, elders, couples, and individuals with severe mental health diagnoses.
In my pursuit to help my family member, I became even more passionate about mental health and reducing the negative stigma attached to it. This passion is something I share with everyone I encounter.

Working with Mrs. Curlene has been a very helpful journey. She comes with a warm welcome and straightforward demeanor that will make you challenge yourself. You have to be willing to put the work in yourself because that’s more than half the battle.
