Dara Delancy is a child and adolescent psychologist and co-owner of Families Forward. She has been working in the Augusta area since 2006, completing her post-doctoral fellowship in Psychiatry at Augusta University (formerly the Medical College of Georgia). Dr. Delancy received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. She earned her Doctorate of Psychology (Psy.D) in Psychology and a Certificate in Organizational Concepts and Business Management from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Delancy completed a pre-doctoral internship in Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health at the Child and Adolescent Service Center in Canton, Ohio.
Dr. Delancy specializes in working with children, adolescents, and their families to conquer anxiety disorders such as Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. She has a passion for working with children with dyslexia and other learning differences and helps guide families through this journey. Dr. Delancy completes comprehensive evaluations to identify strengths and weaknesses and to recommend appropriate interventions. She has had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including public schools, Montessori schools, inpatient and outpatient facilities, community health agencies, private practice, and primary care medical settings.
