Debbie Fain is a licensed professional counselor and has been practicing in the Augusta area since 2011. She received her M.Ed. from Augusta State University and has completed a two-year program in dream leader training at the Haden Institute. In 2010, Debbie completed her internship at Bradford Health Services, a substance abuse recovery program. She has worked at other Augusta agencies facilitating intensive outpatient groups, individual therapy, and art therapy for those in addiction recovery. She has guided individuals and groups through the Alcoholics Anonymous twelve step recovery process.
As a therapist, Debbie integrates two theories of approach. She primarily uses Cognitive Behavior Therapy which is a goal-oriented treatment that focuses on a practical approach to solving life’s challenges. Debbie also combines techniques of dream work, active imagination, and other Jungian concepts to lead clients through their individuation process. Debbie is a retired educator with a 30 year career teaching adolescents. She counsels children, adolescents, and adults. Debbie believes in a holistic approach to promote healing of the mind, heart, and spirit. Debbie currently sees patients at Families Forward through telehealth.
