Dr. Thakur-Gupta is among the best health care professionals I have ever encountered. (Well, my little sister would be in the running for that title!). Even though I am having multiple health issues, Dr. Thakur-Gupta is attentive, kind, professional, understanding and gifted in her ability to treat patients. Her approach to therapy is extremely patient-centered and personalized. I first started physical therapy due to injuries sustained when I was approximately 15 years old. Several more injuries and 30 years later, I have never encountered a more effective and gifted PT clinician.
If you wish to be treated with dignity, respect, professionalism and excellence, look no further.

Dedicated, Thoughtful, Educated and a lovely person
I had seen Deepika initially for chronic lower back pain and to get me more flexible before softball season started. As luck would have it, I badly tore my quadriceps in the first inning of the season, had surgery and was laid up for 6 weeks.
My surgeon told me to find an Excellent physical therapist, knowing that many people never recover to 100% from these injuries, and the first few months of treatment is critical. I knew I was in good hands (no pun intended) with Deepika, so right at the 6 week mark, I immediately booked an appointment. If there is one negative I can put in this review, It would be that her schedule is quite busy, and unless you are diligent about booking appointments in advance, you risk not getting the proper treatment
Deepika is a very hands on therapist, who is excellent about coming up with a treatment plan. She has a lot of modern machines in her office that I have never seen at other therapists. More importantly, she doesn't overbook and have 4 patients in the course of an hour, having each one off in the corner doing exercises like a typical PT mill. She knew exactly how far to push me in my therapy, knowing that aggressive treatment was the only way I would get 100% better, but she never put me at risk of re-injury
I am happy to say that after 2 weeks of treatment, I was already where most people would be after a month, and after a month of treatment, I was past where people would be after 2 months of rehab. . After 6 weeks she has restored full range of motion and about 50% of my strength, which is about the stage people might be after 3 to 4 months
I feel confident in a full recovery thanks to Deepika and would not only highly recommend her, but my surgeon was so impressed with the progress, that he specifically asked me for her information, *** so that he can start referring patients to her as well **** - which might be the highest compliment a Physical Therapist can ever receive

Dr. Deepika is an exceptional physical therapist. I injured my shoulder during a snowboard fall and I visited her for treatment. She was inquisitive on how/when the acute impact happened and followed up with various tests. Her diagnostic was very thorough and she was able to identify which muscles were sprained. She developed a therapy plan right away: First part dealing with pain reduction, then secondly dealing with strength, mobility and conditioning. I look forward to receiving treatment from her again. Really great PT. Took her time with me and explained everything thoroughly. I had a minor issue and was happy that she didn't keep pushing for visits. Once I was on the mend, I was told to return only if problems persisted. Luckily they haven't. Great doctor!

Dr. Gupta was very good at objectively assessing my posture and conveying the information in a noncritical way. She knows how to teach well. The scheduler was also on top of things. The biggest plus is probably for commuters because the office is very close to Times Square. I recommend this place even if it is just for one visit

Very nice and knows what she is doing. She asked a lot of questions about my knee and did many non-evasive tests to determine the possible issues. She told me all the reasons why my knee could be hurting and reassured me that with exercises I could easily fix the problem. She used an ultra-sound and another machine as heating treatments and taught me many knee, quad, hip, and hamstring exercises. She was in the room for the majority of the time helping me learn and properly do the exercises. I went to her 4 times. With my insurance, I have to pay some out of pocket, but she has a great agreement with Cigna that, no matter what machines she uses, it will always be the same co-pay. I told her that I won't be able to come frequently anymore due to finances, and she was very understanding. She told me I have learned enough that I was definitely fine on my own and said that, if i had any questions or my knee was still having issues, to call or email her. Highly recommend her.

Today was my first visit. What a beautiful space - very light and airy, with a gorgeous wood floor and up-to-date equipment. Deepika is extremely knowledgable and kind. She explained how my shoulder functions and where the specific target issue is in my pain arc syndrome. Comprehensive testing and careful beginning steps to decrease inflammation. I look forward to more techniques and exercises that will help to alleviate pain and increase strength.

I first booked an appointment with Deepika because she had Saturday hours listed (and I was absolutely not waiting till Monday to start therapy). She was extremely thorough in examining my injury and explained every step of her examination and treatment plan. She's very flexible in scheduling appointments, and post treatment volunteered to continue providing advice on my therapeutic exercise regime via email. Highly recommended!

Deepika provided good care initially. Her service level dropped off when she had another she was treating. She also hesitated to maintain the doctor's therapy prescription though she offered to continue once I voiced my concern.

I was nursing a sports injury before a big race and Deepika was so helpful to get me ready for the run. I am going now for regular sessions to become fully recovered, and highly recommend her to anyone in need of excellent, productive Physical Therapy. She gives excellent recommendations for exercises to do at home, too.

Ms Thakur-Gupta is very attentive to her patients and their treatment. She was ready for each session having all details of my treatment fresh in her mind each time. Her ability to communicate the nature of the condition being treated and how the therapy was correcting it made her particularly effective.
