I am currently the Chief Consulting Psychiatrist for the Greenwich, Connecticut Board of Education. I also maintain a private practice in Psychiatry in Westport, Connecticut and East Hampton, New York. My primary objective in working with children, adolescents and adults is to accurately assess whatever challenges are being faced and address them as quickly and sympathetically as possible. I employ whatever is necessary to help my patients by incorporating psychotherapy, behavioral modification, meditation, integrative medicine and holistic medicine, all being beneficial, with medication used as a last resort.
My specialty involves the diagnosis and treatment of significant psychological and psychiatric disturbances in children, adolescents and adults. Problems with ADD, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Major Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Substance Abuse, Eating Disorders, Gender Identity Disorder and Schizophrenia are frequently encountered and treated. I prescribe medication conservatively and only when necessary.
Patients feel very comfortable and at ease with me. I have Native American ancestry and additional education which is helpful at times (JD degree and Visiting Scholar, Harvard Law School). I have taught poetry and creative writing. I also ride horses and play polo professionally. Additionally, I have studied Tibetan Buddhism for many years.
