Eric Koch is a physical therapist who strives to continually learn and incorporate evidence-based techniques into each treatment to provide exceptional patient care. Listening to the patient, and truly understanding the entire picture from the patient’s perspective is at the foundation of care. Eric works one-on-one with every patient to create an individualized plan that will allow patients to reach goals that are important to them. “I hope to make a positive impact on my patient’s life and allow them to live a pain-free, healthy life”. Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Eric earned his Bachelor of Science in kinesiology from Central Michigan University and graduated magna cum laude. He then attended Grand Valley State University and earned his doctorate of physical therapy, once again graduating magna cum laude. Eric has an interest in concussion rehabilitation, and will soon be a published author for his involvement with a systematic review in the area of sports-related concussion rehabilitation. Outside of work, you can likely find Eric enjoying the outdoors, watching football, or playing an average round of golf at the local public course.

The approach used by Eric is more tactile physical therapy where during the appointment he uses pressure point message and manipulates the area to get a fuller range of motion. He is working on my shoulder so I relax my arm and Eric moves my arm to various positions. He also provides demonstrations of the PT exercises with an email follow-up. The expectations are that you will do the exercises he recommends. I am seeing much better results with this approach.

It’s been really good experience with Eric . I was able to change my lifestyle which is really important. He constantly encouraged me to become strong and made me understand the importance of fitness for my back pain . I am having herniated disc and have tingling in my foot due to that . He really made me understand the exercises and to mange my pain. I highly recommend him.

I was referred to Orthology by my doctor after suffering from what I thought was an IT band issue for over a year. I was treated by Eric Koch, PT. He actively listened and conducted an initial assessment. By my second visit, Eric was able to pinpoint the issue when other orthopedist's could not. He truly cares about helping his patients regain their full mobility. Today, I am pain free and can once again lead a very active life. I highly recommend Eric and am grateful I had the good fortune to work with him.

Eric Koch is an amazing physical therapist! I saw him pre-op for my Left shoulder instability and post-op. We work on my range of motion, strengthening, and decreasing scar tissue!
