Gail was wonderful. She listened to be while I babbled and cried about to woes of the world and was understanding and compassionate. I do wish she would’ve responded a little more or maybe offered more advice, but there probably just isn’t much to say in my case other than offering understanding. I would be happy to go back and talk with Gail some more.

My first appointment with Gail was everything I could have hoped for. She was very courteous throughout the entire session and allowed me to direct our conversation towards or away from topics according to my comfort level.

More about Gail Reich, LCPC

Being a young adult, whether you are in your teens, 20s or 30s, is challenging. You are supposed to figure out who you are, what you want to do with your life and navigate relationships with friends, family, significant others... all while managing everyday stressors. These are often overwhelming and lonely tasks to accomplish. I empathize with the challenges young adulthood brings and I am here to help. I aim to create a safe and supportive environment to explore what is going on, in addition to helping you develop the skills needed to create the changes you are seeking. I am not a therapist who will simply smile and nod and ask how things are making you feel. I am in it with you and will work just as hard as you. While therapy is a space for self-care, it is also a place for growth. I am not afraid to talk about anything, so bring it on. I earned my Master's degree in counseling psychology from Northwestern University. Technically speaking, I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, or LCPC for short. I work from a psychodynamic viewpoint, and incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and mindfulness into my practice. I have extensive training in Dr. Brené Brown's work giving me the letters CDWF (Certified Daring Way Facilitator) after my name. Her work talks about shame, vulnerability, resilience and belonging. CBT, DBT and mindfulness provide great tools for coping in the moment and the psychodynamic elements get to the underlying causes and patterns to why things might be the way they are now. In addition, I am both a trained artist and athlete. I believe that my experiences both coaching and being a teammate has informed my work as a therapist.

Gail is great! As a young professional she understands the landscape and challenges of being a young professional in this busy world. Gail is also great about setting up weekly appointments to ensure that your mental health stays on track and in the front of your mind. I know for me without those weekly appointments, I would be lost and only see her when it is convenient instead of making it as important as it is for my mental health.

Gail is calm, professional and consistent. I've been seeing Gail for years now and feel I've made huge strides dealing with the issues I saw her for originally.
My two teen children are clients of Gail. One of them for over two years. In addition to providing professional, consistent support she is also amazing at connecting with teens. My children trust her and so do I. One important aspect of our client/therapist relationship is the communication. As a parent, I know that Gail communicates the necessary information to me for safety while at the same time providing a completely safe place to process and work on skills for the child. There have been more instances where Gail has supported me as the parent than I can count. This enables me to better support my kids. If needed, I would recommend her to my closest friend and family as a therapist. Trust, compassion, empathy, professional and dependable in crisis or just the day to day are what come to mind when I think of Gail. She always works well with other providers when needed as well.
