I am a holistic psychotherapist in private practice since 2008. Post Masters, I trained 5 more years in Relational Psychoanalysis with clinical sub-specialities in both trauma and eating disorders. I am also certified as a substance abuse and alcohol counselor (CASAC).
I also facilitate EMDR; a cutting edge treatment modality that I have been incorporating with great success since 2013. EMDR creates new circuitry in the brain which gives way to radical transformations. I highly recommend this intervention to those who fall along the trauma spectrum, anywhere from childhood abuse and neglect all the way to adult anxiety, depression & assault.
We all walk around with ‘psychological blinders’. My role as your therapist is to hold up a mirror so that you can see a true reflection of your authentic self. Often, there are themes in your life that you can trace all the way back to early in life. These patterns often don’t serve us very well and we wonder why the outcome is always the same! Therapy can help you see your role in any dynamic so you can choose to live your life with total consciousness and presence. Truth be told, it’s not always about the other person, situation or circumstance. Fortunately, you don’t have to struggle in isolation. There can be tremendous comfort in just showing up and being real in the presence of a caring and thoughtful person. Luckily, It’s never too late to change.

Deciding to see Gwen for EMDR sessions is one of the best decisions I've ever made. I am so thankful I found her practice. She is the perfect mix of professional and empathetic and every time I leave her office I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
