More about Dr. Imani Coleman, DPT, PT
Imani grew up in South Orange, NJ, right down the road from the Livingston office. She completed her undergraduate schooling at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and earned her bachelor’s degree in Sports Science and Fitness Management. Imani then attended Hampton University, one of the best Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the country, to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
From the age of 5, Imani ran track competitively. As a result, she suffered from several musculoskeletal injuries that required physical therapy treatment. Imani worked with a great PT through her youth that introduced her to the profession and initially piqued her interest into the field. While running track at N.C. A&T, Imani continued to receive PT. It was through her own experience and after shadowing a clinician, Imani felt certain in her decision to become a physical therapist.
When she is not seeing patients, Imani enjoys watching football and spending time with her family, friends and most importantly, her dog. Imani plans on finding a local track team to coach as she is still passionate about the sport. She enjoys treating young female athletes that remind her of herself no so long ago.
