James Wood was raised in Rigby, ID. He completed his undergraduate work at Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Exercise Science. He graduated from Idaho State University as a Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2012. James gained his interest in physical therapy during a high school anatomy & physiology class. His interest grew as he played sports and learned about the intricacies of the human body. As he learned how physical therapists use their knowledge and treatment skill to make positive impacts in the lives of their patients, his love for physical therapy grew. James has continued to increase his knowledge and skills as a physical therapist to get patients better faster with less pain. Since 2012, he has earned multiple advanced clinical certifications. He is certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment and is an Orthopedic Certified Specialist. He continues to apply new knowledge and skills to improve his patients’ quality of life. James and his wife, Melissa, have 3 amazing, energetic children. When not in the clinic, James enjoys playing basketball, wiffle ball, spikeball or hide and seek with the kids. He also enjoys reading, being an active part of the community, and spending time with his beautiful family.
