Jared Elwart was born and raised in Illinois, on the very edge of what can be generously called the Chicagoland area. He has more than 7 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, in a variety of different settings, and earned his clinical license as a result of that experience. During his masters degree, Jared began studying Lacanian psychoanalysis with members of the Lacanian Compass, which has permeated all of his subsequent therapeutic work. His approach is non-directive and non-judgmental, preferring to focus on the specific language of every individual: their word choice, tone, facial expressions, and so on, to help them discover what it is that holds them captive and causes their suffering.
Outside of his work, Jared loves spending time with his wife and two children, reading lots of different books, and listening to and playing music.
