Taking the first step toward therapy is the start of a significant journey of self-discovery and change. While conversations about mental health are more prevalent than ever, finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming. As a licensed clinical social worker with a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Barry University, I firmly believe in the transformative power of healing through connection and understanding. Together, we can work to address and resolve your concerns.
I have had the privilege of working with diverse populations, including individuals facing severe and persistent mental illness, depression, anxiety, life transitions, substance abuse, dual diagnosis, LGBTQ+ issues, and cultural adjustment challenges. My background includes experience in community mental health as well as the VA healthcare system, where I worked closely with homeless veterans through the VA’s homeless program and provided care on an inpatient psychiatric unit. These experiences have not only deepened my understanding of the complexities of mental health but also strengthened my dedication to providing compassionate, individualized support to each client I serve.
My therapeutic style is eclectic and person-centered, as I believe that therapy is not a “one-size-fits-all” approach. This flexibility allows us to adapt therapeutic methods to best support your healing journey. I integrate elements of humanistic, attachment, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral therapies into my approach. As a social worker, I also utilize a person-in-environment perspective, recognizing how our surroundings impact our experiences. I invite my clients to actively reflect on their experiences during and after our sessions, fostering a collaborative dialogue about what feels effective and what adjustments might enhance our work together. Whether you seek to address a specific issue or gain deeper insight into your thoughts and behaviors, I work to provide a safe space for exploration and growth.
