Kathleen Hoffman is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California who has been practicing since 2014. She graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Counseling in 2007.
Kathleen is multifaceted in her experience working with individuals (adolescents and adults from young to the senior years), couples, children, and families. She began her therapist journey in equine assisted therapy and then transitioned to a clinic setting. She is skilled in supporting those experiencing depression and mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, ADHD, anger management, couples communication and clients adjusting to the changes and challenges life presents. Kathleen believes it is important to work closely with her clients to address their concerns and desires by co-creating their treatment plan while using a variety of strategies and approaches to improve their lives. The approaches Kathleen has utilized include solution focused, dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma approaches, motivational interviewing, and the humanistic approach of Virginia Satir. She supports clients to work through acute crisis situations, current or lifelong difficulties and then develop a path forward to become masters of their own life. Kathleen believes in her clients' abilities to create positive change to live a happy, fulfilling life.
When not with her clients, Kathleen enjoys her family and friends, numerous pets, creating art and transforming her yard to a place of welcoming beauty!
