Kent is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Clinic Director at Renue Physical Therapy Saginaw - Bay Road. He has been practicing physical therapy since 1982, upon graduating from the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to his vast educational experience, he is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine (FACSM) and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
Kent has extensive expertise in areas of athletic training and therapy, and worked with Olympic athletes through the United State Olympic Committee (USOC) National Medical Network through 2019. He served on the USOC Medical Staff for the 1996 Olympic Summer Games in Atlanta, Georgia, the 2000 Olympic Summer Games in Sydney, Australia, and the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, Utah. Kent is a member of the Sports Medicine Division for the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), and has experience with the Men’s and Women’s National and World Cup Teams.
Kent’s previous roles include Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL), Team Physical Therapist for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL), and Faculty at the University of Michigan and the University of Indianapolis. He has authored over 200 peer-reviewed articles published in scientific journals and professional research presentations in the United States, Asia, Canada, Europe, Mexico, and South America on the aspects of musculoskeletal problems, functional testing, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, spinal rehabilitation, and sport injuries.
Kent lives in Saginaw Charter Township with his wife, Debbie Cicinelli-Timm, who is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator at the University of Michigan.
