I believe in the healing potential of therapy, and respect the sanctity of the therapeutic partnership and the promise of a safe space in which to do this important work. I strive to create therapeutic relationships grounded in mutual respect and find it an extraordinary privilege to play a collaborative role. I am continually awed by our capacity for healing and growth--for we are stronger than we know.
I work with a broad age-range of clients in individual, couples, and family therapy focused on issues including depression, anxiety, relational conflict, and behavioral problems. I also have specialized training and experience with adoption/attachment trauma, abuse/trauma, PTSD, and dissociative disorders.
I have been working with children and their families since 1998--to include a school for emotionally disturbed adolescents; a residential facility for children; DC juvenile justice system; and PG County foster care system--providing both therapy and assessment. In private practice, my expertise is broadened to include adult clientele for individual and couples work.
Of note, I do not deal directly with insurance companies. I do, however, provide an invoice with which you can seek reimbursement. The invoice provides my license, tax ID, and national provider numbers; a diagnosis code; and necessary CPT codes. (Additionally, I do not accept credit cards.)
