After a repetitive use injury I could no longer raise my elbow to shoulder level without excruciating pain. After just 3 sessions I could raise my hand to the full vertical position. Dr Bortnick has been a life saver.
I still have many other motions we are working on, but her expertise is abundantly clear. Pain is involved but it is fleeting and clear progress is palpable after each 1 hour session.
At 66 —(18 months post quad bypass), I am playing full.court basketball with men in their prime, so being unable to raise my left arm overhead is a huge disadvantage. After therapy completion, I expect to be amble to resume a regimen including pull ups Parallel dips and perhaps vertical pushups once I regain full shoulder range of motion.
Overuse of holding my iPhone was the culprit in my rotator cuff/ shoulder injury. So Beware!

Leah did a fantastic job making be comfortable right off the bat when I came in to see her. She explained everything just right for me to understand what was happening and that made me feel good. Leah is a great Physical Therapist and I recommend her for everyone.

My name is Dr. Leah Bortnick PT, DPT and I am based in Bedford, TX. Originally from Philly, I completed my physical therapy training at Creighton University in Omaha, ranked one of the top 10 programs in the country. I came to Texas because this is where my spice shop is, great Afro-Caribbean dancing lives, and the BBQ is off the chart. Prior to pursuing physical therapy I volunteered as a disaster relief planner for 10 years with a veteran led non-profit. This is where I felt the call to serve as a humanitarian and as a physical therapist, willing and able to serve my brothers and sisters who served. Mild traumatic brain injuries (also known as concussions) are not uncommon in the veteran and first responder community, so it's important to have someone to go to who will listen with empathy, transparency, and support at the heart of physical therapy treatment. Concussion rehabilitation is cutting edge- the evidence is updated all the time! That's why I joined an interprofessional, international concussion consortium called Project ECHO to receive and share updates on the latest evidence-based medicine.

I have had headaches and neck pain for decades, and I've seen a few doctors and chiropractors but the pain didn't really go away until I booked with Dr. Bortnick. Even after the first session of her massaging my neck my headache almost completely went away. Highly recommend, she's really good and actually listens.

I had an ankle injury from soccer and thankfully found Dr. Bortnick. She did a thorough exam of my ankle, watched me walk, and gave me confidence that I could fix it and get back to playing. Will go back if I have any other injuries!

Once you meet Leah it is immediately obvious that she has a passion for helping people. I felt she was an excellent listener which is an invaluable asset in treating patients and a rarity in today's healthcare system. I give her a big thumbs up!

Dr. Bortnick is an amazing physical therapist who is both kind and understanding. As a Marine Corps veteran, I really appreciate her using proven treatments and her special focus on helping veterans and first responders. She truly listens to our experiences and never pretends to know what we’ve been through. Her caring attitude and expert skills have made a big difference in my recovery.
