Dr. Winkler specializes in medium-to-long term therapy utilizing 3 modalities of treatment: individual investigation, group therapy, and continuing medication management! He does NOT do ANY medication-only cases.
Dr. Winkler has had extensive training and experience with analytic, existential, and interpersonal approaches. I'm also in the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology as well I see the "worried-well" and those with more serious diagnoses and problems, and am able to refer patients to other medical specialists and to neuropsychologists as needed.
I offer a warm nurturing therapeutic environment coupled with a "highly-focused" investigative approach to ADEQUATELY and ACCURATELY diagnose and treat patients. I am interested in early "shaping" family-of-origin issues, trauma of all types, and peer group interpersonal experiences which shape and create todays difficulties. I also am interested in dream-work and goal setting.. Although I am an out of network provider, I COORDINATE with ALL insurance plans as long as you are able to see any doctor of your choosing!

Initial eval today; extremely pleased. Very inviting, relaxed approach to dialogue; asked the right questions without one feeling as though you're being analyzed, but producing a very accurate profile of the individual and potential focus areas. Holistic approach of counseling and psychopharmacology to drive improved quality of life from all angles.

Dr. Winkler is a great doctor who has a great understanding of his patient's needs. As someone who is typically averse to doctors / therapy in general, I am very comfortable being open and honest in my conversations with him.

I thought Dr. Winkler was very professional and to the point. He recommended that I start doing group therapy. After sone hesitation, I agreed to give it a try and see how it goes. Since I am active duty in the Millitary he mentioned that he was in the Tricare network. After calling Tricare to see if I could get reimbursed, they told me that he was ot listed in the Tricare network but even if he was, I would have to get a referral for this and have it approved in order for me to get reimbursed.

He completely ignored my preferences with medication and insisted on prescribing me something that I wasn't comfortable with. He treated me like an object of curiosity instead of a patient and was more interested in my ethnic background instead of my diagnosis and my relationship to it.
He then pressured me to join weekly group sessions, which I said I wasn't comfortable with, as a replacement for working with a therapist.
I definitely would not recommend him to others.

No wait time! Very cozy and convenient location. Dr Winkler is very comforting and seemingly optimistic. Highly satisfied with first visit and will be continuing care with him! Very happy to find him.

DR. Winkler is one of a kind. He's easy to talk to, and really listens to your symptoms. He's caring, compassionate, and very intelligent. I've met with a number of psychiatrists in the past and I have never felt as comfortable during a first meeting as I did today with dr. Winkler. Looking forward to our next meeting.

Dr. Winkler stated that although disabled currently, American Health Medecine may get me better than ever. Work through volunteering may be also good practice to revive my neurone and leave me in better conditions.
