In my opinion, the ideal client is someone who presents for and seeks treatment with struggles that they cannot handle on their own or are looking for some guidance with organizing their thoughts and feelings regarding life goals and noted struggles. This client openly communicates any issues they may be experiencing with at the onset of treatment and any issues that may be realized as we start to peel the proverbial layers away, as often the initial noted struggle is simply a symptoms of deeper underlying issues. The ideal client will also be receptive to and actively participate in a treatment plan.
