My name is Lori Kramer-Feingold. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, functioning as a Clinical Psychotherapist in which I embrace the Therapeutic Alliance between Client and Therapist. I am proud to be bound by the ethical principles based on Social Work’s core values of Service, Social Justice, Dignity and Worth of the Person, Importance of Human Relationships, Integrity, and Competence. These principles set forth ideals to which I, as a Clinician, with a Social Work background, aspire to live up to in all my relationships, including Clients, their Family Members, and Human Beings as a whole. The Relationship between Therapist and Client is one of the most important aspects of the therapeutic experience. Nurturing that relationship is my priority because in order for a Client to feel comfortable enough to trust the process, they must feel the connection with their Therapist, and trust that they are the most important person in the room, as well as in their Therapist’s life, at least for the time they are with them in session. I have been working with Clients for 18 years at present, with my expertise being in the Mental Health Field to include Substance Use Disorder, Addiction, Co-occurring Disorders, Relationship Issues, Family System Dynamics, Divorce, Separation, Inner Child Work, and more.Mental health and substance use disorders affect people from all walks of life and all age groups. These illnesses are common, recurrent, and often serious, but they are treatable, and many people do recover. Mental disorders involve changes in thinking, mood, and/or behavior. These disorders can affect how we relate to others and make choices. Reaching a level that can be formally diagnosed often depends on a reduction in a person’s ability to function as a result of the disorder.
