Dr. Weatherford is a licensed professional clinical counselor with several years of clinical experience working with adults in an outpatient setting with differing presenting concerns. He has specialized training in behavioral therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. Dr. Weatherford graduated with a Masters Degree in School Counseling from Eastern Illinois University and subsequently re-located to Kent, Ohio in 2014. Once there, he attended Kent State University where he received his Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision. While navigating through his course work, he received his clinical mental health license in 2017 after completing his internship at a private practice in Kent, Ohio. He graduated with his PhD in 2019 but stayed on with the private practice to help people navigate the mental health component of living through a pandemic. Dr. Weatherford primarily works with adults ages 18-60 with a wide range of concerns. He has extensive experience working with adults with varying depression diagnoses, varying anxiety-related diagnoses, ADHD, adjustment disorders, and varying other diagnoses. Dr. Weatherford is a member of the Ohio Counseling Association, the American Counseling Association, and the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. His life stance is to make every effort to focus on the here-and-now as time will fly by if you don’t. He also believes therapy is a collaborative effort between the therapist and the client and he will help the client to reach their optimal goals if the client is willing and able to put forth the effort in the relationship.
