Sarina Sechrist is a practicing Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). She obtained her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology in 2013, and her Master’s of Science in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling in 2015, both from the University of Pittsburgh. Subsequently, she relocated to Miami, Florida where she began working as a counselor in a school-based therapy program and teaching psychology courses at Miami-Dade College as adjunct faculty.
Currently Sarina is employed full time at Care Resource as the Integration Counselor. In this position, Sarina works in coordination with the center’s medical department in order to ensure the continuity of care between medical and mental health. She utilizes an eclectic counseling style including techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, gestalt theory and mindfulness training. This approach allows her to meet the needs of each client individually.
Sarina has experience working with individuals with mood disorders, psychiatric conditions, post-traumatic stress, and individuals adjusting to serious health conditions including HIV. Sarina also provides group therapy for clients with substance abuse concerns and couple’s counseling for individuals experiencing relationship distress.
