Shannon graduated magna cum laude from William Paterson University with a bachelor degree in Biology and magna cum laude from Rutgers University with a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. While in college and graduate school, Shannon worked very closely with physical therapists in an outpatient sports clinic and completed clinical work in outpatient orthopedics, acute care physical therapy, and school-based pediatrics.
Shannon played multiple varsity sports in high school, including soccer, track, and softball. Her involvement in sports, combined with a love of anatomy and physiology, lead her to the field of physical therapy. While in high school, Shannon was part of a medical science program that allowed her to volunteer her time in a local hospital where she shadowed doctors, nurses, and even physical therapists, which only solidified her passion for physical rehabilitation sciences.
Shannon enjoys treating a variety of injuries/conditions but has a passion for treating young athletes. She knows firsthand how important it is for athletes to get back to playing without pain or limitations; therefore, she takes particular care in integrating, not only physical rehab but also an understanding of emotional recovery following an injury.
