In these moments, negative emotions can overwhelm or deplete our sense of self-esteem and self-worth, preventing us from recognizing and utilizing personal strengths to move forward. Reaching out during these challenging life moments can give you the support and ultimately the momentum to move forward by rediscovering these individual strengths. The key to becoming or reclaiming your “best self” involves increasing self-awareness, facing obstacles head-on and willingness to change maladaptive patterns.
Sharice believes in a well-rounded approach to counseling which allows her to create an individualized treatment plan for each of her clients. She utilizes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which involve challenging and reframing negative thoughts, developing coping skills to manage symptoms and setting concrete, but manageable goals. Sharice puts the emphasis on shedding light on “the person within” recognizing that all of us possess the solutions to finding a way forward through life obstacles.
Sharice’s experiences as a therapist have permitted her to work with clients throughout the lifespan, ranging from school-aged children through adulthood. Sharice works with individuals with a variety of presenting issues and backgrounds, but has a passion for working with clients struggling with mood disorders, anxiety, eating disorders and family or relationship conflicts.
Sharice believes a genuine and transparent therapeutic relationship is fundamental to creating a safe space for self-exploration. Her engaging and non-assuming personality puts her clients at ease even while difficult topics are addressed and processed. She joins her clients on their paths of self-discovery, meeting them where they are at, and offering comfort, understanding and guidance as they work towards personal goals and growth.
