Steve Scifres is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado. He completed his Master of Arts degree in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling/Therapy at UNC in May of 2019. Steve strives to provide a collaborative environment where people are free to be themselves. He primarily works with people from an emotionally focused orientation. Life is fast paced, and Steve wants to provide an atmosphere where clients can “slow-down,” and better understand what is happening for them in their lives. His desire is to help people develop new “pathways” in their lives, and to recover “lost territory.” Throughout much of his work, Steve integrates an attachment-based perspective. Steve strives to develop an sound, empathetic relationship; and, he draws upon his personal experience as a small business owner, working in the trades, serving in faith-based organizations, and participating in professional athletics.
He works to help clients gain insight into their experience, and assist in developing skills to help people where they are challenged in their personal lives, as well as in their interpersonal relationships. Steve provides care with people across the lifespan, including children as young as 3-years-old.
