I’ve been working with Tamar for a few years to learn ways to best cope with my general anxiety and how to navigate some difficult relationships in my life. Her advice is always spot on, nonjudgemental and just the right thing to help. She has so much compassion and understanding of what it is like to live with anxiety and I’ve seen such a huge improvement in my symptoms over the time we’ve been working together. My anxiety and depression used to be so debilitating, but that is no longer the case. Her methods and advice really worked and I would highly highly recommend her to anyone.

I cannot say enough about Tamar Colen. She is intelligent, intuitive, and insightful. I think what makes her so exceptional is that she is so relatable. She always "meets me" where I am and helps me to understand myself and helps me make sense of some of the patterns in my life. Her use of analogies is unparalleled and she has a great sense of humor. She gives me tools to help me work through my thoughts and she challenges me. She has made herself available to me during some of the most difficult times of my life and has helped me learn more about how to cope with my anxiety instead of letting it rule me. In particular, I remember calling her from a family vacation in Costa Rica when I could not get on a small plane. She walked me through the steps to soar through this particularly anxiety provoking situation. I can't sing her praises enough. The world needs more gifted therapists like Tamar. She is a blessing in my life.

I am a licensed psychotherapist specializing in helping children, teens, and adults with anxiety, depression, and overcoming life's challenges. There are times when we get overwhelmed and need guidance in sorting through our struggles.
I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Arizona State University. My approach is for us to work together in developing a deeper understanding of the issues causing distress. This process involves forming a relationship based on trust and honesty. During our sessions, we examine both the internal and external factors that keep us stuck and work toward insight and growth.

Tamar is kind, thoughtful and a great listener. Her insights are spot on, and in turn she is able to help in ways I wasn't able to see prior to discussion. I feel like we have made a lot of progress since I began seeing her, over the last couple of years. I would most definitely recommend her to my friends and family!

I love visiting this office! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and I am always treated in a professional manner. I have been able to build a strong and comfortable relationship with my therapist, as she is reliable both inside and outside the office. I leave my sessions feeling relaxed and recharged, and I would definitely recommend this practice to anyone looking for therapy in the area!

Her dedication to our family's wellbeing and mental health has been invaluable, whether it be working with an individual family member, parent/child/teen, or us as a couple. She has been professional, informative, supportive, kind and compassionate and we are forever grateful.

Tamar is the best therapist I have ever seen! She is intuitive, understanding, supportive and asks asks amazing thought provoking questions. I have been in therapy throughout my life but no one was as effective as Tamar in helping me make life changes.
I highly recommend Tamar and can’t say enough about her skill set and resources.
