I enjoyed the visit with Dr. Soolari, he was professional during my Initial Consultation, FMX and exam and takes Dominion Dental he said. After attempting to have cosmetic work, not needed a few years ago from a former longterm Dentist, would have been cost prohibitive for me, withuot using dental coverage. I wanted to pay and use dental insurance, though my former dentist emailed an application for a dental credit card, which I never applied for. I want to use Dominion Dental coverage, do not want dental implants, or have my teeth extracted for implants, as I stated before the visit with Dr. Soolari. He later emailed his Dental treatment plan for dental work with implants / with partial implants and crown and bridge, two options, I requested. However I still don't know what Dominion Dental Insurance / Kaiser portion is, and not on the treatment plan from Soolari. His Dental Plan, though concise, could easily get me a new Prius, and second option would be half that. Both cost prohibitive for me, again. Though I'm ready to have the work done, minus insurance. I'm still looking to find a Dentist for crown/bridge work who takes Dominion Dental in Silver Spring, MD. I've asked over 55 neighbors having the same problem, and have a referral, that four are using now. Wish me luck.

The doctor was very professional. I was disappointed by mis-communication from the staff. I paid out of pocket for an expensive xrsy and was told someone would call me after a radiologist read it and then I could come in to discuss a treatment plan. A week goes by and no one calls. I finally call and was rudely told no information can be shared with me over the phone. These are results I paid for! Now I have to wait another week.

Dr. Soolari earned his doctorate from the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry in 1990, where he received several academic awards. He received his specialty training in periodontics from Eastman Dental Center and Master of Science degree from the University of Rochester, Rochester, New York. He achieved the distinction of Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology in 1997
Dr. Soolari is an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the National Naval Medical Center, Postgraduate Periodontics, Dental School in Bethesda, MD. Also, he is Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Periodontics at the University of Maryland Dental School and has a Research Associate position with the New York University College of Dentistry.
The publication: Compliance and its role on successful treatment of an advanced periodontal case. Review of literature and a case report. Quinntessence International, 2002,33:389-396 has been translated into Japanese and German languages.

I would not recommend this practice to anyone. I came to Dr. Soolari after I received a referral from my dentist about a concern I had. Soolari was dismissive and kept shifting the conversation to cosmetic alterations I could make.

I just switched insurance and needed someone to see me for a terrible toothache. The pain was so bad that I could barely function. I made an emergency appointment and hoped that my concern would be taken seriously. I waited an hour and a half beyond my appointment time. There were other patients also waiting even longer who were very frustrated. I was so glad to finally be seen, I wanted any kind of real diagnosis to stop the pain. They took some X-rays and that was it, he said I probably need a root canal and prescribed a mild pain reliever and antibiotic. I was so distraught leaving the receptionist was so kind, she explained more and gave more guidance than the doctor who barely looked at me. She was lovely. I would not recommend this doctor, but his whole support staff were terrific. They should go work for a doctor who seems to care about patients.

The visit was good. I went for a simple cleaning and had to go through the process of getting x-rays ect. He recommended a deep cleaning for gums, I declined. He wouldnt/couldn't do the regular cleaning. Waisted visit! His bedside maker wasn't the best but his staff was friendly and kind.

Dr Soolari's academic pedigree, combined with his finesse in practical procedures (such as the extraction he performed on a seriously infected tooth) makes his office and staff an exceptional resource for individuals who need basic to very advanced procedures. His Curriculum Vitae includes many publications, teaching and a high degree of personal excellence. I cannot recommend him enough.
In short, he clearly has a commitment to excellence.

Zocdoc had me believe he did dental visits, because he came up when I sorted by dental cleaning/consultation. Turns out he is a gum and jaw specialist, so I had to wait to see the in house dentist. Still, they were both very kind and I got a good cleaning.
