Dr. Alexa Spennato is a native of Delaware County Pennsylvania. She grew up in the suburbs outside of Philadelphia with her parents and younger sister. Growing up with a father as a dentist, Dr. Spennato was exposed to dentistry at a very young age and has spent her entire life in her dad’s practice in Broomall, Pennsylvania. Dr. Spennato attended dental school at her father’s alma mater, Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Temple and was in the top 5% of her class. In addition to honors, Dr. Spennato was awarded The Dean’s Award for Exemplary Care for Patients, the Delaware Valley Oral and Maxillofacial Society Implantology Award, and the Philadelphia Dental Society Award, chosen by her faculty. She was also named the most outstanding student of the graduating class. After graduation, Dr. Spennato spent a year at the Lebanon VA Medical Center in Lebanon, PA, completing a General Practice Residency. There, she received advanced training in all areas of general dentistry including restorative dentistry, fixed and removable prosthodontics, oral surgery, and endodontics as well as extensive training in placing and restoring dental implants. She loved her experience at the VA. Hearing stories from and treating veterans was an honor for her. A self-proclaimed food enthusiast, Dr. Spennato loves trying out new recipes and restaurants, and grilling in her backyard. In between meals, you can find her practicing her golf swing, on the ski slopes, or taking advantage of all the hiking trails and reservoirs around New York. She frequently travels to the Jersey Shore to spend time with her family. Being a former high school athlete, she still enjoys regular exercise and yoga. Dr. Spennato is currently residing in Yonkers, New York, with her partner who is completing his training in an Oral and Maxillofacial surgery residency. Surrounded by dentists in her professional and personal life, Dr. Spennato is constantly learning and advancing in the field. She is a current member of the American Dental Association and the American Academy of General Dentistry and an affiliate of the International Team for Implantology. Dr. Spennato’s attention to detail and her ability to make her patients feel comfortable and at ease in the dental chair sets her apart as a dentist. She can’t wait to meet you!
