Dr. Alexis Kirkland-Miller, a native of Brooklyn, NY, first fell in love with the D.C. metropolitan area while pursuing her undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland College Park (Go Terps!). Upon receiving her Bachelor of Science in finance, she returned to her hometown to work for an investment bank. She however, soon found the fast-paced, strenuous work environment very unfulfilling.
Determined to have a career that made a difference in the lives of others, Dr. Kirkland-Miller decided to return to Washington, D.C. to pursue a career in orthodontics. Dr. Kirkland-Miller graduated from Howard University with her Doctorate of Dental Surgery and certificate in orthodontics. She also earned membership in the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon honorary dental society.
She is currently a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the National Dental Association, the American Association of Women in Dentistry, the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontics, and the Maryland State Society of Orthodontists. Dr. Kirkland-Miller regularly attends continuing education seminars to keep current of the latest technologies and treatment procedures.
Dr. Kirkland-Miller is a skilled practitioner, and passionate about providing orthodontic care to create straight teeth, a great bite, and ultimately a beautiful, healthy smile for each of her patients. She is just as committed to building strong relationships with her patients, and considers them an extended part of her family. The staff was very helpful and curious to us, as it was our first visit to Dr. Kirkland's office for my daughter's consultation for braces. (The front desk in particular and the staff who took my daughter's pictures and x-rays made her feel so comfortable) I appreciate that. They gave us a tour and showed us how to navigate check-in for our next visit. Dr, Kirkland is very professional and knowledgeable. She even gave me recommendations for myself. They also offer payment plans if you don't have insurance or your insurance lapsed. I highly recommend to others.

Every visit is excellent. I am very happy that we found this orthodontist. We have never experienced such great customer service. Given that this is our first experience with braces, we did not know what to expect but this has truly been a pleasant experience, every visit. The results we see already are amazing.
