Dr. Amanda Hoover is originally from Gloucester, VA, where she graduated from Gloucester High School. Following High School, Dr. Hoover attended Virginia Tech where she received her B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Upon completing her undergraduate degree, she immediately entered the School of Dentistry at Virginia Commonwealth University where she then earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. She currently is a member of many local and national organizations, including: the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, James River Study Group, Southside Dental Society, and the Richmond Association of Women Dentists.
As she demonstrates her passion for dental care and her community, Dr. Hoover participates in local outreach programs such as: the Virginia Dental Association's “Mission of Mercy (MOM)” projects and the American Dental Association's “Give Kids a Smile Day” where she volunteers and donates her dental skills to underserved Virginians.
In order to provide her patients with the latest and most up-to-date procedures, Dr Hoover continues her dental education by taking classes in areas like implants, endodontics, and sedation.
When Dr. Hoover is not providing care to her patients, she enjoys snow skiing, whitewater rafting, and traveling to beaches with her husband, Jared, 4-year old daughter, Logan, and son, Jack, who is almost 1. She also loves animals and has two miniature dachshunds, Oliver and Reese.
