Dr. V and all of his staff are truly exceptional! My comfort was the top priority and everything was explained thoroughly. I required a deep cleaning and they were able to make accomadtions for me to have it completed on the same day. My hygienist, Serena, kept me entertained and relaxed during the entire procedure. I'm so glad to have found this amazing team!

Dr. Andres Villasenor, better known as Dr. V, is a family dentist who provides comprehensive and thorough care to his patients. Originally from San Antonio, he completed his undergraduate degree from Tulane University in New Orleans. After receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UT Houston Dental Branch, Dr. Villasenor moved to the Houston Heights. Wanting to better serve the Heights community, Dr. Villasenor chose to open District Dental earlier this year.
In his spare time, Dr. Villasenor enjoys watching sports, running, crossfit and spending time with his wife, Erin, and their son, Joaquin. On any given day you can find the Villasenors taking a walk down Heights Boulevard or frequenting a variety of Houston Heights restaurants and local businesses.

It was a great visit (as far as going to the dentist goes). The staff was very nice and welcoming, the place was nicely furnished and Andres Villasenor was very professional and friendly. I even got a goodie bag at the end of the visit.

I am terribly afraid of the dentist. Due to genetics, I've needed a lot of dental work since I was a small child. Over the years, I've had some bad experiences and developed real anxiety about dental work. I had not been to the dentist in over three years. The bonding on my front teeth is 20 years old and needs to be replaced. It had chipped on my right front tooth, and my vanity finally spurred me to go to the dentist. Everyone from the receptionist to the dental hygienist to Dr. V. was amazing! They are working with me to ensure maximum insurance coverage, and they are phasing my treatment plan to accommodate my budget. I cannot say enough amazing things about dental hygienist Sabrina. With over 15 years experience, she is thorough, thoughtful, and gentle. Everyone in the practice seems to genuinely like and work well together, and they come across as happy employees. I believe in supporting places with happy employees. I am so glad I decided to try a new dentist and that I chose Dr. V.'s practice.

As a person who abnormally afraid of the dentist, Dr. Villasenor and his staff make me feel at ease. Since moving to Houston, I've been to 3-4 different dentists in the area and was so excited to finally feel comfortable there. The office uses technology others didn't, which is always a good thing. Appointments are scheduled properly and I never have had to wait more than 5 minutes in the office. The hygienists are the best I've ever had and are very professional/knowledgeable... one told me she really enjoys the preventative aspect of her job, as opposed to fixing the problem and another young hygienist was actually working on becoming a dentist herself. In the past I have felt rather ripped off by other corporate dentists, but Dr. Villasenor is always working with me with way higher values.

I scheduled an early morning appointment and was a few minutes late. My tardiness caused no issues, and as soon as I finished filling out the paperwork, they were ready for me (i.e., no wait time). All of the staff were very friendly and both the dental hygienist (Kelly, I think?) and Dr. Villasenor took the time to listen to and address my questions and concerns. For anyone in the Heights/Timbergrove/Shady Acres area, Dr. Villasenor's office is a great and convenient option.

My visit was great. The entire staff is super friendly and made you feel comfortable. Dr. Andres Villasenor is personable and is there to explain everything. I asked plenty of questions and he answered all of them clearly.
The office was clean and very modern. The staff reviews what work is being done and will explain each line item that is being charged to you or your insurance. Everything was transparent.

My second appointment with Dr. Villasenor. It was one and a half years since I saw him last and he recognized me and remembered what my main problems/complaints were. Great bedside manner; the staff were great, efficient, and able to explain all procedures. Would gladly go again and recommend District Dental to others.

Little to no wait time in reception or in the chair
The facility was nice, with easy parking
X-rays were quick and easy
They do 2 up-sells, fluoride and cancer screening. The receptionist told me what they were, the recommended frequency, how much they cost, and if my insurance covered them before I went back. All the info I needed to make the right decisions about them.
Records were all digital, and the info I'd filled out on ZocDoc was already in, I just had a couple of things to add and sign on a tablet.
It was a great experience, and I'll be coming back

Let me start by saying I love the hygienist who used to work here and if she was still there, I'd go back since she spent the most time with me cleaning my teeth and helping with my issues, but unfortunately she left and I didn't feel the doctor was experienced or educated enough in certain areas to warrant my staying since there are so many dentists with nice offices in the greater Houston area.
Of course doctors and dentists have to start somewhere and it takes years and a variety of patients to build up that experience and education so I don't hold it against him especially since he's a nice guy but I found his bedside manner after he was done with treatment (and when I first met him) to be odd to say the least.
The last time I was there I had a filling done and the dentist not only left material on my lips (no biggie since it could be wiped off but it had to be done quickly otherwise it would set) but he didn't show me what the filling looked like afterwards, and just got up and left without saying a word. We weren't even sure he was done. The dental technician who was helping him was new and was just as perplexed and confused as I was. She didn't know if he was done either and said sarcastically, "Is he coming back?" She got up to find out where he went and he was up front talking to the receptionist shooting the breeze as if he didn't have any patients. It was very bizarre. So the dental technician cleaned me up and assumed I was done for the day. You'd think the dentist would say something like, "All done, have a look and let me know what you think." But to just leave without a word was really unprofessional. The job he did was fine and it helped me but again, bedside manner is important when you're dealing with patients. Just being good at the technical aspect of your job isn't enough. He also didn't seem to know much about sensitivity which again is something that comes with time as he gets more patients with sensitivity and takes the time to see what works and what doesn't for each patient as we're all different.
The hygienist however, did have a lot of experience in this area and was very helpful. I can see why she went back to dental school. She will make an excellent dentist both in skill and bedside manner.
I have since found a new dentist who has amazing bedside manner and a lot more experience with patients with all different issues so I'm so glad I didn't stay with Dr. Villasenor. He might be fine for you if you have no sensitivity and you don't mind a dentist with odd behavior (in my opinion) when he's done with your treatment, but I didn't feel this dentist was right for me. It all depends on what your'e looking for.
The office was very clean, the staff was nice and they provide free lip balm and bottled water which was a nice touch.

All staff very professional and Dr Villasenor seemed very knowledgeable. Surgery was modern and clean. Out of pocket expenses were minimal even with x-rays and two fillings. Will be going back.
