I am a 3rd generation dentist from Germany. My grandfather was a well-established dentist and so are my father, aunt and sister. My love for details, interest in health and making a difference in others influenced my study in dentistry. I graduated in 2001 from the University in Kiel, Germany and worked for seven years in Germany at various dental offices performing all aspects of dentistry with special focus on cosmetic and aesthetic treatments. One of my highlights during this time was going on a dental mission trip to Brazil which gave me the opportunity to give back and treat people with no access to dental care.
To broaden my experience, I moved to Zurich, Switzerland and worked there for two years at the request of the owner/dentist to treat his patients and manage his dental practice. While working in Switzerland, I met my husband. Marriage and exciting new opportunities brought me to the United States. My first few years in the US were filled with studying for my dental board exams, English language tests and receiving my DDS from University of Colorado in 2014. Although Colorado is a beautiful place, my love for the ocean, the green nature, family and friends compelled me to move back to Maryland. I have since worked in Baltimore to provide care for underserved children and young adults. My biggest joy during this time has been in ensuring every dental visit was as comfortable as possible through actively listening to my patients’ questions and their needs in order to help ease their natural anxiety and bring a smile back to their faces.
I know the importance of and am a huge proponent of a balanced lifestyle and encourage this with family, friends and even my patients. I especially love to go for a run after a long and stressful day. I have found Racquetball or playing Squash as very helpful to decompress. Other things I love to do during my down time is baking (particularly German cakes and desserts) or visiting German restaurants and stores, especially during the time of Oktoberfest or Christmas, bringing a bit of home from overseas.
Working in my own dental office since September 2017 marks a milestone in my professional life. During this transition, Dr. Juliao, who provided excellent dental care these last 18 years in Chevy Chase, continues to help to ensure that the philosophy of care is aligned and suited to meet all our patients’ needs. I hope to establish a lasting relationship with all our patients and continue to provide a lifetime of good oral health.

Dr. John is an amazing dentist. . I relocated to DC from New York and one of my biggest challenge as a new DC resident has been finding newdoctors. I am so so so glad that I met Dr. John. Her bed side manners was wonderful, her personality was pleasant and she is VERY committed to her patient's oral care. My cleaning was very thorough and she talked me through the whole process. After taking my xrays she explained each of them to me and welcomed any questions Ihad. I am a teeth fanatic so I could not have been more satisfied my the treatment I received. .
