Booked an appointment day of for a dental cleaning and to talk about a possible tooth extraction.
The wait was short and the front desk staff is super friendly, welcoming and organized.
After my cleaning, Dr. Babak Behmanesh reviewed my xrays and listened to me explain how my last dentist pretty much left me traumatized. Before moving into the neighborhood and seeing him I had visited another dentist who basically told me that whoever did my root canals did a terrible job - which resulted in me getting my first tooth removed.
Dr. Behmanesh offered to extract the tooth today promising that it would take 5 mins and patiently talked me through it. This was the best and swiftest dental experience I’ve ever had and it honestly restored my faith in dentists altogether.
While it wasn’t entirely painless, not because of Dr. Behmanesh and mainly because of the error of my past procedure, I can honestly say that I was in good hands.
I would highly recommend his services to anyone looking for an amazing dentist, especially is going to the dentist is a stressful experience for you. You won’t regret coming here.

I got a same day appointment for 11:30am. Was seen right away. Was in a ridiculous amount of pain. Got the area numbed, and got my wisdom tooth extracted in a jiffy. Virtually painless. Got an rx for antibiotics and pain meds. Was back in my house by 1:30pm. This was my first visit there, I will see him in 6 months. Happy with this dentist!

Horrible office environment. Staff is unprofessional and rude. Street language is used. They have a television in this area they call a waiting room. That’s another story. They had rap videos which contain vulgar language with kids in the area. When I mentioned it to another patient, they overheard and quickly changed it to children’s programming. He is also ultra expensive.

Since moving to queens about a year ago I been meaning to find a dentist who I believe will be honest and not rip me off of my money. I’m glad I trusted my gut instincts with Dr. Behmanesh. He helped me so much in my visit that I couldn’t thank him enough. I came in with some pain from tooth sensitivity, not able to drink or eat anything cold or hot. After Dr. Behmanesh fixed my problem I instantly was relieved of the pain. What an amazing job Dr. Behmanesh did. I’m honestly happy I choose him as my dentist. Highly recommend him to anyone in pain or just in need of a check up. Dr. Behmanesh assistants were very helpful and amazing as well. Can’t wait for my next visit!

He was very rude, insulting, and dismissive. I traveled very far to see him. But he only took ten minutes out of his time to see me. Long enough to insult me and my choice of insurance and then walked away.

The best dentist I've seen in a while.
I have two broken teeth, and she just provided the best care and explained everything to me, and did way more than she had to, or than my insurance would pay for. If you live in the Bronx area, this is the only dentist you should even consider going to. She gave me the best dental cleaning I ever had, and was really vocal on what she would be doing to getting my mouth back to a healthy state.

At first I was happy to find a dentist near my home who accepted my insurance but was horrified after my incomplete visit. First, they couldn’t confirm the appointment, couldn’t get a hold of the office until almost 10am, was told to call back to confirm, after I got confirmation from zocdoc, they still couldn’t confirm my appointment which was for 10:30am, finally at 10:31, I called back & I was confirmed, drove there, got there at 10:42 & was told to have a sit, someone else was being seen. Was finally called in for x-rays some time after 11am, took the dental tech a while to get the x-rays done, she used the same gloves to touch the computers & computer wires & at the same time touch the dental instruments to be used for x-rays without changing it once, (horrifying), now it’s 11:42, had to put money in the meter for my car which was parked right in front of the dental clinic, came right back in & sat back in the room but was told to wait in the waiting room because they needed to take X-rays on the next patient, I was called back in 12:12pmto finally see the dentist, she asked me a couple of questions regarding my last dental appointments & I clearly explained that the last dent visit I had for a bridge ended up with an infection for almost 2 weeks, & was looking forward to a better medical service, so she checked me & recommended that I need cleaning & the bad news was that I also needed a new bridge & asked how long ago I had the bridge done & if it was the same insurance I used, when it was time for cleaning my teeth, nothing was ready or set up for that process so she was talking to someone in the office regarding what was needed, looked at my time, it was 12:34 so I asked her if I could put money in the meter now since my car is in front & I won’t have to worry about getting a ticket, she said sure, it took me 2 minutes ( I was back inside at 12:39) to replace the paid parking ticket on my dashboard, I went back in & she was taking a picture of another patient so I said to myself oh ok she coming right in after the pictures, I waited for a few minutes & let the office manager know that I had another appointment at 1pm & had to call them to let them know I was running late, but I was really pissed off when when I saw her actually working on another patient who came in not even 30 minutes & she didn’t have the decency to say anything to me but kept me waiting, I couldn’t believe the fact that I had worked over night, stayed up the extra 2 hours just to see this dentist & am left sitting without getting the dental service needed. When I took my jacket to leave the manager asked if I was leaving, I told him yes that I have another appointment, & I was tired of waiting for a little over 2 hours & nothing, no one has called from their office to say we apologize for the inconvenience or the fact that we left you to service someone else without the common courtesy or decency of letting you know we weren’t catering to your dental needs even though you were there before this other patient. I am also going to let my insurance know not to pay for any services but the X-rays which they took & I want my X-rays. I live in the neighborhood & would absolutely & positively NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!!!

Babak may be the fastest, most honest and professional dentist ive had in this city so far. And, I’ve been here 26 years. He didn’t waste my time trying to upsell me on treatment I could not afford. He simply acted with integrity and treated my tooth. His assistants in the office were nice, and the all seem to have an office family vibe there. I have already recommended him to someone today who overheard me talking about my experience. Looking forward to teeth cleaning next. I gotta new dentist!!

I had a very pleasant experience at the office. Everyone that worked there was very kind and friendly and made my visit a very positive experience. I waited less than 5 minutes before I was taken into the exam room and was seen by the dental assistant for a cleaning immediately. Although the procedure was very painful, she made me feel as comfortable as possible. The dentist filled my cavity very quickly and I was out within the hour. I highly recommend Dr. Behmanesh and his staff.

Came here for my first visit today. I got a checkup and a dental cleaning done, and was also treated for gum recession in the same visit, as well as offered treatment for teeth grinding. This was the most thorough cleaning I have received at a dental office. Very impressed with how clean and stain-free my teeth look. The doctor himself was very helpful and informative. He answered all of my questions. Looking forward to my next visit!

Had an appointment for Invisalign. Dr. B came highly recommended after he did Invisalign for my secretary last year, He even offered free teeth whitening. Really easy to talk to, does not try to sell unnecessary procedures, saw many positive feedbacks from patients waiting in his office. I am glad I switched dentists!

This was my first visit and I was pleased with the entire staffs professionalism. It was clean which I make sure to pay attention to, so I was very happy about that. I did not have to wait long, which was a plus for me. Overall, I have no complaints at all .

I HATE going to the dentist. Always had a bad experience and have avoided going for years. Dr. Behmanesh was excellent. Put me at ease, assured me I was in good hands and said he would take care of me. When my husband picked me up, he asked me, how was it? I said not bad AT ALL...He said whaaaaat, looks like we found a new dentist. He has also made an appointment with Dr. Behmanesh. You won't be disappointed, I wasn't.

a little over a year ago, i fell very hard on the sidewalk and hit my teeth. the hospital said i could wait for their office to open, but when i called dr. behmanesh, he fit me in immediately and completely calmed me down. instead of over-reacting to the situation, he reassured me. and even though i had a busted lip and pain in my teeth, i did not need any extra work done. he has monitored my teeth throughout the year with additional x-rays to make sure they are still okay.
other dentists i have gone to have asked me about whitening (my teeth are perfectly white) or fixing my slightly crooked teeth (basically unnoticeably crooked), but dr. behmanesh has never given me the sense that he is trying to squeeze me or my insurance for a few extra bucks. it's nice not to feel like he is trying to sell to me when i am there for a teeth cleaning.
i am very happy he is in the neighborhood and will continue to go to him for all of my dental needs for many years to come!

Great person and equally great clinician. Safe to say he is very passionate bout his work and a high standard quality care. I lost a few teeth due to an unfortunate accident but you wouldn't even know it. I have been going to him for many years, and my sister who lives out of town and is a dentist herself comes only specifically to him. We wouldn't want anyone else touching our teeth. He never rushes me, explains everything that he is doing, and even goes over the basics of how to brush teeth and floss. I have never seen any other dentist do that. He came highly recommended to me by a friend, and I am really happy I chose him.

Read some reviews, decided to make an appointment for my husband. He grinds his teeth, and his mouth looked awful. Dr. Behmanesh did not only a great job, but my husband's teeth look better than mine, and I payed so much more for mine in the city with a "popular with famous people" doctor. I wish I also had gone to Dr. Behmanesh. He is very polite, talks to us the whole time, making us feel comfortable, spends his time and doesn't rush. I just made another appointment with him for my daughter this time for invisalign. He has a great promotion going on for the spring with a free I pad. I highly recommend him. A great family doctor!

I have been to see Dr. Babek on two occasions. The first as a new patient - for a general cleaning. That involved a range of X-rays, followed by a few wipes of fluoride on my teeth (that took a few seconds). I then asked the dentist's assistant if my teeth were cleaned and she said yes. Interestingly, after coming home I read a review that experienced the same - so on my second visit, I asked if my teeth were indeed cleaned at the first visit and requested for a more thorough cleaning. Dr Babek said no problem, and had his assistant clean it. That took around five minutes. I have been to other dentists where cleanings took 20 minutes, at least.
During my first visit (who was a 45-minute wait), I was informed by Dr. Babek that I will require a root canal and crown and that my insurance will not cover these procedures. I then called my insurance who said I am covered. I then wrote the doctor an email stating that. When I received no reply, I called the receptionist who asked that I just let him know on my second visit.
Upon my second visit (waiting time now was much better - this was timely), I informed the doctor who said it is a molar root canal and to have me check with my insurance again. I then call my insurance who said I am indeed covered. My insurance rep also said: "The doctor should be the one doing all these work. You are doing his work for him." I emailed requesting that Dr. Babek send a prior authorisation - did not get a reply. I then call the receptionist who told me the entire process for prior authorisation will take three weeks to a month - this turned out to be inaccurate when I called my insurance company. The entire process could take - at most - up to two weeks. But it usually takes several days, I was told.
When I last called about the status of my prior authorisation, the receptionist sounded hesitant at my first mention of "regarding my prior authorisiation". It did not sound like they were on top of it and before I could ask if they had done it, I requested to have the prior authorisation cancelled anyway. I figured this really could take a month.
I appreciated Dr Babek's good work on my two cavities - he was very efficient, always polite and always checked if I was ok. However, the back and forth on whether my root canal was covered by my insurance was a little unsettling and frustrating. The clinic should have sent the prior authorisation as soon as they could without having their patient made repeated calls to their insurance to check (once again) if the procedure is covered. Also, a dental cleaning shouldn't be a few wipes of fluoride. A lot of this came down to trust and I have just decided to find greener pastures - hopefully this time without second guessing if a doctor has my best interest at heart.
