I hadn't gone to the dentist in years and I didn't like my last dentist which is why I've avoided finding a new one for so long. My friend actually recommended me first to Dr. Lin and I'm glad she did because he made me feel at ease and was very fun to talk with. There was absolutely no judgement and no pushing of unnecessary work (which I hated about my old dentist). He answered all my random questions and really took his time to make sure I was happy with the results. Props. All the props!! Haha

Appointment was quick and easy. I haven't been to the dentist in a while and am always worried about the scorn and digging they tend to do when you wait so long between visits. He was very friendly and walked me through everything to where I was comfortable with what he was doing.

Dr. Barry C. Lin was originally from Taiwan and grew up in New York. He completed his undergraduate education in Cornell University majoring in biological and environmental engineering. He then earned his doctor of dental surgery degree at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. After receiving his doctorate degree, Dr. Lin completed two years of training working alongside veterans at the Bronx VA Medical Center.
Dr. Lin understands that being a dentist is lifetime commitment of continuous learning and is dedicated toward achieving this by being an active member of American Dental Association. Dr. Lin seeks to deliver the highest quality dental care with the latest techniques and materials. He takes the time to listen to every patient and is a strong believer that establishing a relationship with every patient will go a long way to achieve not just a healthy smile but also a complete state of wellness.
Dr. Lin currently resides in New York City. During his downtime, he enjoys travelling and exploring unique places and cultures around the world. He is also a huge fan of the outdoors and enjoys running and hiking. Dr. Lin is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese and is looking forward to working with you!

Barry is very friendly and an excellent dentist! I really appreciate his approach to working with patients. He isn't interested in making you feel guilty or trying to scare you into taking better care of your teeth. This was my first experience finding a dentist in the city, so I was nervous about getting pushed into a number of unnecessary things, but Barry was very pragmatic in his recommendations and I never felt pressured. I've since had a couple of fillings done by Barry and I would recommend his work in that regard as well!

I needed some work done on my teeth. The woman at the front desk asked me to sign off that I had been shown an overview of the work that would be done on my teeth and proceeded to loudly detail and point to a diagram of my dental work in earshot and eyeshot of everyone in the waiting room. I would prefer more privacy. Then when the rubber stopper the dentist uses to prop your mouth open looked filthy, I mentioned this to him. He assured me it had been cleaned, but did nothing about the obvious stains and stuck it in my mouth anyway.
But the real reason I cannot recommend this dentist is the pain that inhibited my eating patterns for months after He worked on my teeth. I had to go in for two separate sessions. Several weeks after the first session, the tooth he had "fixed" still hurt! When I asked him about this he poked it a few times and then told me to "try not to think about it." Assuming the pain would subside I let him go ahead and work on my other tooth, which was a big mistake. I have had sensitivity and pain in both of these teeth for months since my appointment--I can't enjoy anything crunchy like tortilla chips without carefully avoiding chewing on those teeth. I will never return to this dentist.

This place is awesome. I was hesitant to switch dentists since I loved my last one, but after a change in my company insurance it only seemed right. I work in healthcare, so have high expectations of patient care and this was awesome. Dr. Lin came in, talked about my x-rays, a possible fill in and even discussed my cosmetic options after I inquired. Then, I believe Chelsea (his hygienist) did my cleaning. IT WAS THE BEST CLEANING. I had so many coffee stains and I swear she got everything off. Found my go to place. Thank you thank you!

based kn on the reviews I read, i was expecting de. Barry to do the cleaning. Although, his assistants were nice and gentle. Would recommend for basic services. After the appointment they recommended me to do other treatments , but I wasn't sure if I really needed or if they were just trying to sell.

Overall the dental services and explanation were thorough, if a bit perhaps overly so. Dental cleaning was excellent. The wait and communication were less so. The wait in the waiting room for me was over 20 minutes with another 30 once I was seated in the exam chair, with no one checking in on me without me asking a couple of assistants. I appreciate that a doctor may be running late, but it really should be communicated and timed better.

Went in as a new patient and the receptionists were extremely efficient and effective at working out my insurance. Dr. Lin took the time to speak with me and ask about questions and concerns, and I never felt rushed. Got a filling replaced and it was quick and easy.
