**ZocDoc Patients** Practice requires a credit card deposit of $75 prior to the 1st visit. If the patient does not call within 24 hours of the appointment to cancel, or if the person does not show up to the appointment, he will forfeit the deposit. Otherwise the deposit will be applied to the fees, deductibles and copays. If none of these apply the deposit will be refunded.
Dr. Metrick graduated with honors from New York University’s College of Dentistry in 1982. He interned in the Oral Surgery Department of Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, Israel, a division of Technion University. He then served as a dentist in the Israeli Defense Force.
Returning to the States, Dr. Metrick served as an instructor in the Oral Medicine Department of NYU College of Dentistry and became a member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.
He established his current Washington Heights practice in 1987. In two decades of service to this neighborhood, Dr. Metrick has been the family dentist to a whole generation of children, teens and adults.
Dr. Metrick has pursued his interest in orthodontics, pedodontics, TMJ and sleep-related problems with over 400 hours of ongoing coursework in these areas alone, with leading practitioners all over the country. He is attuned not only to treating dental problems but also to understanding and addressing underlying causes – for example, how nasal blockage in children influences the development of their teeth and jaws.
Dr. Metrick is a member of the National Society of Dental Practitioners and the International Association of Orthodontics.

On a number of occasions during my visits I have felt tense, anxious due to the tension I observe between Dr. Metrick and his staff. I feel that clients should not be subjected to that during their service time as visits to the dental office can already be stressful.

Rather brisk at times, but the receptionist helped me jump through hoops to get the best coverage from my insurance that I could. She stuck with me through the whole thing! And I really appreciated that I didn't felt pushed into anything and every treatment was the simplest solution to the given problem.

He has been my dentist since February 2011. On my first visit he gave me the most thorough dental examination I have ever had. On this occasion, a routine cleaning was handled by his hygienist, but he came in for a look-see after she finished. Dr. Metrick and his office, get an A+.
