This was my first time at Astoria Modern Family Dental and seeing Dr. Kanwal. I was nervous after not seeing a dentist for three years but it was a great experience from start to finish. The technician who did my x-rays was so nice and helpful. Dr. Kanwal felt like a non-judgmental friend who I could be honest with about any dental issues I was having. No one tried to push any unnecessary procedures on me and I left with super clean teeth.

Theoffice looked modern and clean. Staff was welcoming and friendly. They were aware of my apt. To accommodate me, I was asked to come in a bit earlier for proper diagnosis time. Dr. Kanwal was so kind. Very warm bedside manner. He listened, took further steps to ensure proper diagnosis, and treated my issue on the spot.
I hate dentist offices but I truly felt at ease here.

Been about 15 years since I last went to the dentist (insurance reasons), I wasn’t nervous but I was concerned about my mouth being riddled with cavities from excess Ben & Jerry’s consumption. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive. I showed up about 30 minutes before my appointment time and I was in the room taking X-rays before I even finished the new patient forms. Dr. Kanwal was friendly, professional, and willing to share his insight with whatever question I asked concerning my x-rays and general tooth and gum health. The dental cleaning was pretty quick, and wasn’t painful at all. There was some sensitivity around my prior cavities/fillings, but nothing crazy. On an alternative note, today was the day that I found out I was a squirter. No wonder the doctors all wear masks. I didn’t know there was that much backsplash during a dental cleaning. I was in that seat looking like a human lawn sprinkler. Anyway, it was a good experience and this dental office is highly recommended!
