More about Dr. Brett Lent, DDS
Dr. Brett Lent grew up right here in Santa Monica and was very involved in the community, local athletics and Troop 2 Boy Scouts, and is very proud to serve the community that helped raise him. Dr. Brett Lent graduated from SAMOHI in 1996, earned a B.S. in Molecular Cellular Development Biology from UCSB in 2000. Upon graduation from UCSB he was accepted in the Masters of Oral Biology program at UCLA. During this time he began working as a research assistant at the West Los Angeles VA in studies regarding chewing efficiency in denture wearers and implant patients. This ultimately led to his master's thesis topic of "Perceived Chewing Difficulty of Dentate Persons and Complete Denture Wearers". Dr. Brett Lent attended the UCLA School of Dentistry and graduated in June of 2007. He was one of three in his class to receive the Excellence in Restorative Dentistry award and one of eight in the Dean's Leadership Institute. Brett and his wife Shana were married in July of 2007. Shana is currently completing her residency to become a general surgeon at the UCSF program in Fresno. Since graduating from dental school Dr. Brett Lent had been practicing dentistry in Fresno and Visalia, but has rejoined the practice in Santa Monica as of 2010.
