Dr. A. Christopher Bernardini has been a member of the Staten Island community for almost his entire life. He attended and graduated from New York University’s College of Dentistry in 1982 where he was president of XI PSI PHI Dental Fraternity. He completed a one-year Advanced General Dentistry Residency at Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH) and simultaneously worked at Mount Loretta Home for displaced children and participated in children's dental health month activities at local schools. Then he joined the private practice that his late father, Dr. Alexander Bernardini, opened in 1962, after graduating from NYU.
After Dr. Alex retired in 2002, Dr. Chris continued the same high level of care and comfort to his patients.
In the early 1990's, Dr. Chris was the first one on Staten Island to incorporate DENTRIX, a Windows-based dental practice management program. He brought as well digitalization into the practice with DEXIS radiography as well as digital intra-oral and extra-oral photography.
With a clear goal in mind of providing exceptional complete dental health, Dr. Bernardini has been always engaged in continuing education in all aspects of Dentistry. Dr. Chris was formerly a member of the Academy of Sports Dentistry; he is currently a member of the South Shore Study Club, Richmond County Dental Society, 2nd District Dental Society, the ADA and a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). He is certified in Invisalign® and as well, he pursued extensive continuing education in the surgical placement of dental implants.

I almost don’t want to write a good review because I don’t want the entire island to discover this HIDDEN GEM but this office deserves the greatest of praises! Dr. B is the best doctor I’ve ever had across all specialties... and I’m TERRIFIED of dentists. Pain is a distant memory here. Never felt a thing; I take comfortable naps while he drills and hums. He remembers everything about you and is the kindest human being you’d ever call your doctor. His breed of physician doesn’t exist anymore. This extends to EVERY member of his staff. They make you feel like you’re their only patient and just an extension of their family. Coming from large scale offices, this is the ultimate proof that a small office is where the truest doctors are. I look forward to every appt I have with the Bernardini family!

First time I ever went to Dr. Chris (January 2017) I went in terrified with a horrendous tooth ache. Turns out I needed an extraction done, I had read good reviews about him online and boy were they RIGHT! He is an AMAZING dentist. I'm upset I didn't find him before this because maybe I could have been proactive and taken care of my teeth instead of reactive to my toothache. He made the entire experience from start to finish completely painless (and I'm a punk when it comes to the dentist) His staff is also really good and so nice. I'm extremely happy with how my appointment went and I would definitely recommend everyone go to Dr. Bernardini. :)

Dr. Chris is a wonderful dentist. My family and I go to him every six months. Linda makes sure our teeth are cleaned and polished to perfection. The entire staff is very professional and courteous. I went to Dr. Chris at first because I needed implants and there was no room in my mouth for the implants. Other dentist were suggesting removing teeth or filing them down so that the implants would fit. Dr. Chris was the only one that suggested we fix the problem. Because of the advice and recommendation I received from Dr. Chris, I still have all my teeth and they are now straight. Thank you Dr. Chris!

Visiting Dr. Bernardini is always a pleasure. The staff is warming and inviting, as is the office. When I first came to Dr. Chris I was terrified of the dentist (as are many) even as an adult. My previous dentist might as well have been a butcher. Dr. Chris immediately put me at ease. My fear ended by my second visit and I have been visiting ever since (over 15 years). I have watched the office grow. They stay up on the latest technology, techniques and treatments. The dental hygienist, Linda, is thorough and gentle. Everyone in the office is knowledgable -- not only on dentistry but insurance and alternative treatments. I have referred many, many people. I can't say enough...it is always a positive experience (even when the news is bad).

I have been with Dr. Alex Bernardini for several years. He sends reminders for my appointments, He is fairly prompt when I arrive (I am not always exactly on time). He and his workers are friendly. I am uncomfortable with someone else's hands in and around my mouth, but I have never been in pain while he works on my mouth. Slight discomfort is the worst I have experienced. I have never been fond of going to the dentist, but he is the best one yet!
