He cares deeply about his patients, is completely trustworthy & provides extraordinary care.

Our relationship began almost 10 years ago when I used to smoke cigarettes, and had multiple issues with my teeth that lead to a fear of the dentist's office.
Dr. Chua helped me throughout this entire process that including root canals, an extraction, and multiple cleanings. I can say both his work & our ongoing relationship changed my life.
I now actually look forward to going to the dentist, and the impact it has had on my health, self-esteem, confidence and happiness is immeasurable.

Chua, has dentistry in his blood. Born and raised as a second generation dentist, Dr. Chua attended Schools in San Francisco Bay Area. Dr. Chua started excelling in the sciences in High School. Dr. Chua was one of the founders of Pi Alpha Phi Fraternity at UCSC. Dr. Chua went on to earn his doctorate from the prestigious Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, graduating in 2004. Derrick O. Chua, DMD joined his mother and sister in private practice in San Francisco and San Mateo. Dr. Derrick Chua speaks Tagalog, Fukienese, Mandarin, Spanish, and English.
A vested member of the dental community, San Francisco Bay Area cosmetic dentist Dr. Derrick O. Chua’s reputation for excellence and dedication to quality work are unsurpassed. To continually hone his skills, Dr. Chua has trained with international top academic leaders in preventive, implant and cosmetic dentistry. He can work magic with any issue you are experiencing with your teeth or gums, do amazing cosmetic work, and even fit you with an invisible aligner.
Perfect for those of us who are a bit nervous about seeing the dentist, and there is no problem or issue he hasn't seen or fixed.
2 convenient locations, and a super friendly staff. If you see him for a basic cleaning you will find your dentist for life!

Insurance information was inaccurate (I thought I was covered and it turned out that I was not) and no one informed me during the appointment or before I payed for the services. I am still trying to reconcile this issue.

My visit with Dr. Chua was fantastic. It is difficult to find a good dentist and I was glad to have found Dr. Chua on zocdoc. He walks you through your entire examination, explains to you his findings, provides the rationale for what he is doing, and is a very personable and knowledgable dentist. I appreciated his thoroughness as well. I definitely recommend Dr. Chua to my friends and colleagues.

Got average quality treatment (a standard cleaning and later returned for a cavity filling) - not amazing but got the job done. But felt like I was trying to get upselled throughout the appointment and was automatically scheduled for another cleaning without opting in.

i scheduled a consult for my husband who.has unique circumstances. i had questions and he discussed situation with me for about 11 minutes. it went fine. No solving of issue but appreciated his time.

I've been going to Dr Chua for a long time. Best dentist in the area by far. Very caring and has the best technology available as well. Took my 3 year old daughter for her first visit, it went really well. Dr. Chua is awesome!

He felt eager to take advantage of my situation, and sign me up for a tooth removing immediately and a bunch of cleaning that gelt overpriced. I got my cleaning done from other places and I didn’t have to pay on top of my insurance. A flat price gouged, and was told the cost after quickly jabbing me with two anasthetic needles.
