Dr. Ellis is a graduate of the New York University School of Dentistry. She is a distinguished member of the faculty of the New York University College of Dentistry where she teaches methods of reconstructive and cosmetic dentistry. She is also a member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology. Dr. Ellis recently received the honor of America's Top Dentist of 2007.
Dr. Ellis has established a personal practice with an emphasis on a whole body approach to dentistry. In her reception area a Zen fountain bubbles, aroma therapy candles are burning and the receptionist offers herbal tea.
Holistic Dentistry focuses on health and wellness rather than repair of disease. Although DentaSpaHolistic Dentistry offers a full range of modern, scientific treatment for dental and periodontal procedures our approach to dental care is one that relates the health of the mouth to the health and well being of the whole person. Dr. Ellis believes that the role of a dentist is more than just repair of dental disease and resolution of periodontal problems. Her innovative approach combines science and natural healing.

I came in for a consultation regarding a tooth that was causing me pain for quiet a while. Dr. Ellis recommended doing an onlay which she explained is a much more conservative treatment than a crown. The doctor showed me an ipad presentation of what exactly she will do to the tooth and I felt comfortable to proceed with the treatment. My insurance was verified upfront which was really helpful to me. Really happy with my experience.

She always gets to you as soon as possible and works with your changing lifestyle schedules! And the staff is super supportive and skilled. I've been going for years. So glad I left my other dentist for her!

Dr. Ellis is very nice and very good at what she does. Her hygienists are also very competent, which is important because most of your time will be spent with them (for regular cleanings, for example, you'll only see Dr. Ellis for about 30 seconds at the end..) But that's not terribly uncommon with a lot of dentists.
There is one problem, and unfortunately it's a big one: payment. I've been seeing Dr. Ellis since 2009, and I strongly feel that—intentionally or otherwise—her office is misleading about insurance acceptance. If you book with her, make sure you ask the front desk inside and out that she accepts your insurance for your SPECIFIC procedure (even a simple cleaning!), not just in general. My two friends who saw her have both switched to different dentists because of this, and I may follow suit since I now realize it's her office rather than my insurance that's the problem.
Dr. Ellis and her staff really are good at what they do, but I can only recommend them if you're someone who will be vigilant and ask a lot of questions, rather than a push over who just signs a check like me!

Dr. Ellis is an superb dentist. I have been frequenting her practice for 15 years and I have only had the best experiences: from root canals, to crowns, to filling, I have never encountered a more careful and durable cure for my teeth. I have had a number of dentists before Dr. Ellis and none have had her expert and painless approach; furthermore, Dr. Ellis uses the latest technologies in dental care.
I highly recommend Dr. Ellis's services to anyone.

Not the best experience. I came in the first time, the X ray machine did not work. Dr. Started to drill, realized I have a root canal and sent me with an open tooth to a root canal specialist, but not before taking 1/2$ upfront for the work that she did not start yet. Then I was locked in. After I finished my root canal, I came back to her, the machine still did not work several times. The person at the front desk kept on adding to the total amount every time I came in. They took so much $ for the work that wasn't worth it. As far as a spa...I didn't see any massage offering, all I saw was a little fountain and that's pretty much it, didn't help the stress I was always on when I came in to the office. Now it has been half a year and I am in pain again in that tooth. Needless to say I will not be coming back.

Beautiful office with views of the park from the chair! Dr. Ellis and her staff are warm and friendly, and use state-of-the-art equipment so you know you are receiving the best treatment available. Never thought I'd say this about a dentist but can't wait to go back!

Dr. Ellis was very nice. However, I felt they were rushing the appointment and did not thoroughly clean my teeth. I'm not sure if this is because I had already told them I would not be interested in optional services, but slightly disappointed.

There is nothing spa-like about a visit with Dr. Ellis. Her office is disorganized, unprofessional, and she snaps at the assistants while they are working on your teeth. Fancy address (that you pay for) and good intentions, but falls short of satisfactory.

My experience at DentaSpa was very positive. The offices are very nice, with a great view of central park. Dr. Ellis was very kind and straightforward and explained my options thoroughly. While I just had a cleaning, they did a thorough job and I was pleased with the results. The complementary foot massage was definitely a plus. Thumbs up.

I've always been terrified of dentists. As a child, I had multiple teeth pulled...lots or orthodontic work, etc. So, this fear of dentists made me put off going for YEARS. No joke. I was actually embarrassed to go! Dr. Ellis immediately put me at ease...assuring me that I wasn't in as bad of shape as I thought. She was amazing. This was THE BEST dentist visit I've ever experienced. So much so, that I'm eager to go back. Dr. Ellis and her staff were incredibly kind and patient... so, so wonderful! I've been telling all of my friends about her and her wonderful work. The only pain I experienced was a tiny pin prick...She allowed me to listen to my ipod while she worked... she thoroughly explained everything.. It was really SUCH a great experience!
