Dr. Francesca Verratti (Dr. V) is originally from Caracas, Venezuela. She received her first D.D.S degree at the Central University of Venezuela, which she completed with honors. She then completed an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Internship in Caracas, followed by another year of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training in Bogota, Colombia, at the Central Military Hospital, which is well known for pioneering techniques in osteogenesis, severe maxillofacial trauma and orthognathic surgery.
Dr. Verratti went on to train for three years at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL working closely with many renowned oral and maxillofacial surgeons, focusing on major facial reconstruction techniques.
Dr. Verratti obtained her second D.D.S degree at New York University, College of Dentistry. She received multiple accolades in NYU and graduated with honors cum laude. She then completed her oral and maxillofacial surgery residency training at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where she helped care for a wide range of complex patients.
Dr. Verratti continuously strives for excellence and received multiple awards in recognition of her work. During her time at NYU, she was heavily involved in the student body. She was the president of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Society as well as vice-president of the student research club. Also, in NYU, Dr. Verratti did an oral and maxillofacial pathology elective year, which she completed with honors. She won the American Equilibration Society award for comprehensive care in occlusion and temporomandibular joint disorders.
Dr. Verratti enjoys giving back to the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery and the community. She had the opportunity to travel to Nicaragua to provide care for underserved communities in need of oral surgery services. In NYU, she was an instructor in head and neck anatomy and practical dental Spanish for dental students. She also lectured at Bellevue Hospital to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program. During her time at Harbor-UCLA, she supervised and worked closely with dental students. She was also an invited speaker at the annual Southern California academy of oral and maxillofacial pathology.
Dr. Verratti then worked for two full-scope oral, facial and cosmetic surgery private practices in Los Angeles, CA, where she was able to incorporate facial cosmetics into her extensive training.
In her free time, Dr. V likes to connect with nature and enjoys an active lifestyle full of camping trips and adventures with her husband, Victor, and their dogs, Choco & Gaia.
We are glad to have Dr. Verratti as a full time oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Sage Dental. She is looking forward to providing exceptional care for the South Florida community.
