I have been going here for a couple of years now. I have no insurance and they give every break they can. My last procedure was a bit ugly in one area. She worked the area we discussed before the treatment and then did a little bit more at no extra charge. The staff is always friendly and quite competent. They run a tight front office with appointment reminders and a new tooth brush.

The wait time was very short, which I do appreciate.
The practice itself must be fairly new, because it's in downtown Pleasant Hill and I hadn't seen it before, yet the paint is scuffed and many of the signs look outdated. It's not so much that the facility is old as poorly cared for. Her staff also seems a little rundown. They weren't rude in any way, they just seemed kind of unhappy to be there.
That wouldn't bother me much, however, except Dr. Baluyut herself seemed persistently angry with me. I had a lot of questions ("Does my insurance cover this?" "Are you sure?" "How much will that cost?") but she really lost her patience halfway through working on my fillings. I saw that she was going to put a large rubber block in my mouth, so I asked:
"Is that latex? I have a latex allergy."
"No, it's rubber."
"Rubber is latex."
"Well, of all of my patients with latex allergies none of them have had any problems!"
I don't think I asked in a very rude way, and I still think that it's completely reasonable 1) for her to keep track of my latex allergy; 2) to use non-latex implements; 3) to simply explain to me that she was using something with latex, but it probably wouldn't hurt me.
Not sure if I will go back for the next set of fillings I need.

I have been a patient here for over year and the entire staff is friendly and professional. I have no dental insurance but find the pricing to be fair and reasonable especially given the level of service. Their attention to detail is greatly appreciated. A small shadow of little consequence, but noticed, turned out to be a brewing infection that the (referred) endodontist confirmed and subsequently cleaned out.

Always have a superior experience here. Dr Baluyut is very approachable, listens carefully, and gentle when she gets down to business. I've had several cleanings, a root canal, replaced a crown, fixed a chipped tooth, and each time all has gone super-smoothly. The front-desk staff is great too - very professional and they have been accommodating the several times I was running 15-30 minutes late for my appointment. I live in Oakland now but still drive to Pleasant Hill to see her because of the great experience.

Dr. Gemma not only explained everything I needed, but also showed me as well. Their office has all the latest equipment and technology. I'm so lucky ti have found Creasent Dental.

My first visit was for a check-up and cleaning. All of the office personnel were friendly and courteous. They each made me feel quite welcome to be there. The treatments were extremely thorough, but with a gentle touch, and each step was comprehensively explained. I loved the back-massage patient recliner! Before I arrived for my appointment, Reception contacted me to make certain my insurance plan was active, so there would be no issues in that regard. I need some (anticipated) additional work. When I scheduled my follow-up appointment, Reception was able to calculate and provide me with my out-of-pocket expectation for my next visit -- very efficient office operation. Dr. Baluyut has a convenient office location and accommodating parking, and very nice office decor. I was totally impressed!

Had a cleaning appointment that day and when I walked in they told me that they had changed the cleaning to a deep cleaning appointment. I told no I had told you I did not want a deep cleaning till next year. I was not only asked 3 times by the first girl then 3 times by the billing person that it would not be any cost to me. She explained to me that it would go to waste and I had duo coverage. I told her I understold my coverage but just here for the teeth cleaning. Then the dentist asked me again and again. I was not very happy at and thinking about not going back at this time.

The receptionist is extremely nice and helpful- In the office as well as over the phone. She remembered me and helped answer questions before I even had to ask. The assistant was nice and attentive to my comfort at all times. The Dr. was great, she was sensitive to my tender teeth and made sure I was okay the whole time. This office was very advance and modern with technology- I was impressed that they showed me everything about my teeth on a computer screen above my head. Also- the chair has a light massage for your back and that sort of calmed me since I am nervous from past experiences. All around great experience.

The doctor and staff were very hospitable. I was seated right away and didn't have to wait in the lobby at all. The doctor had delicate hands, and the chair was really comfortable. I would go back here and recommend them to family and friends!
