I have always been scared of the dentist and doctor Irma Cantu -Thompson and her entire team made sure to take care of me and made me feel comfortable. Yvonne is super nice and gave me all the instructions and helped me with all the questions I had.

Dr. Cantu-Thompson is a general dentist, practicing in San Antonio since 1995. Born in Mexico, she grew up in the border town of Eagle Pass. She attended Texas Women’s University, where she completed the Dental Hygiene Program and graduated in 1989, with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She attended Dental School at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where she graduated in 1995.
While in general practice for over 15 years, she has continued her dental education, becoming proficient in Orthodontics, Appliance Therapy, Implantology, Oral Surgery, IV and Oral Sedation. She has treated over 20,000 patients and counting, in her two locations in San Antonio, one on the Southside and one in the Medical Center area.
Nearly every year since becoming a dentist, she has traveled to 3rd world countries such as El Salvador, Mexico, Guatemala, Africa, and Haiti, on short- term medical mission trips, where she has donated her time and services to the underprivileged. She has typically provided for as many as 3 to 4 staff members to accompany her on these trips. She is committed to never forget her humble roots and to always give something back to her profession and to the community.

The staff and doctor were all welcoming and informative. The only thing I didn't like was that they made me wait over an hour to see the doctor because she was on her lunch break. That is fine with me, I just wish they could have scheduled me a time after that, or when it was convenient for her. Other than that, I would recommend their office.
