Dr. Iwona Iwaszczyszyn joined Prospect Dental in 2004. Since that time she has significantly impacted our clinic through caring, professional and superb approach to practice of dentistry. Being a dentist is not only her work but also her passion.
Dr. Iwona completed dental school at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, with a doctorate and then post-doctorate specialty-degree in general dentistry; she then continued her education at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. She has taken numerous post-graduate courses in General and Cosmetic dentistry, continually improving her skills. She specializes in treating sleep apnea and believes that good sleep is a key to patient’s well being. She finishes The Dawson Academy what gave her necessary skills for complete care with primary concentrations in dental occlusion, the temporomandibular joints and comprehensive esthetic restorative dentistry.
Dr. Iwaszczyszyn practices family dentistry being a voluntary dentist at CDS Foundation Clinic, Mission of Mercy and other charity organizations that provide people in need with free dental services. She appreciates the importance of healthy, beautiful smile and its impact on self-confidence of the patient. Dr. Iwaszczyszyn has great experience in all facets of general and cosmetic dentistry, including, but not limited to crowns, bridges, dentures, fillings, lumineers, and implant restoration.
She is a member of American Dental Society, Illinois Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society, Polish Dental Society, Dawson Academy Alumni, Illinois Sleep Society and American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine as well as a strong supporter of charity organizations such as Women for Women International Care, Lurie Children’s Hospital and The Oral Cancer Foundation. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family – husband and daughter who is a dentistry student at UIC. She believes in active lifestyle and loves hiking, biking and traveling.
