This family owned dental office is outstanding. The team works very cohesively with Doctor Jeff. They make a very clear effort to bring a home vibe to the dental office to help alleviate anxiety (smooth jazz music, required paperwork to be posted in frames rather than taped to the wall, and a living room set up for the lobby). Dr. Jeff, however, is the STAR here- this man spent more time with me than I’ve ever had a DDS do. He was personable, polite, but most importantly INFORMATIVE!! He taught me so much about my teeth, cleared up misconceptions on things previous DDS’ have incorrectly informed me on, and alleviated some anxieties for me as well. HE EVEN CLEANED MY TEETH!! I have never had an experience like this one and moving forward, I will continue seeing Dr. Jeff and his friendly staff!!

I’d like to introduce myself, my name is Dr. Jeff Schmelter, and I am the owner /creator/proprietor of MyTimeDentalCenters.
I began my career with a Northern Arizona not-for-profit organization advocating for Developmentally Disabled adults. After realizing my clients’ lack of dental education and oral health instruction, as well as a general lack of access to care, I wanted to provide them with instruction in basic oral hygiene and daily life skills. Soon after I began, my clients began calling me “Dentist Jeff” and I quickly realized my true calling.
My college career began at Rutgers University in New Jersey, I obtained my Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree at Midwestern University-Illinois.
After completing my residency, I returned home to Phoenix. I joined corporate dentistry for a short time and found one consistent patient complaint, the lack of time they actually got to spend with the dentist. I asked myself, how are patients gong to achieve their dental health goals without the time and attention needed from their doctor? That’s when I decided to create my own version of “time” and created MyTimeDentalCenters; to give each patient “TheirTime” or “MyTime” with the Doc (that’s me) at each appointment. It’s a unique concept that my team and I embrace through care, passion, education and…yes, you guessed it…our TIME.
My background combined with my life experiences and training, have allowed me to become an empathetic and understanding health care provider with a passion for compassionate pain-free dental care. I understand the feelings and challenges that my patients face and can relate to their concerns, phobias, anxieties, and fears, which allows me to help many patients that would otherwise avoid visiting their dentist. Together, through listening, discussions, and education, I partner with my patients in a co-discovery process to achieve the highest level of individual dental health.
When we’re not at the office, my amazing wife Ashley and I spend our time trying to keep up with the light of our lives, son Jaiden, and three pups Nala, Nika, and Stella. We also enjoy watching movies, playing the guitar, golfing, bowling, and listening to music.

Was incredibly rough and curt. Had no bedside manner. Receptionist walked in during procedure and said “oh you have a bleeder there” after seeing me in the chair. Actually one of the worst experiences of my life.

They could do a better job on customer service with the staff at the front desk. They operate in a scarcity mindset. It comes across as distrusting and makes the customer feel uncomfortable, almost as if they’ve been robbed in the past very.No-one should have to experience this while trying to patronize a business. I would recommend that the staff gets very versed and educated on their financing options so that they can present proper information to the customer so that they can avoid a lot of chaos that could take place from slacking on this very important part of the process.?

EXCELLENT service and care. The office is very inviting, and all staff members that I came in contact with were genuinely warm and friendly. After the necessary X-rays and scans were completed, all viable options were presented to me, and I didn’t feel pressured to make a hasty decision about the recommended treatment plan. Dr. Schmelter and his assistants were very thorough, and they made sure I was comfortable at all times. Overall, the care that I received was exceptional!

It was easy to make an appointment. I got in as a new patient right away. The office has convenient Saturday hours. My visit went well -- started on time, front office staff were friendly and let me know what to expect for follow-up appointments. Hygienists and the dentist were great -- they asked if I had particular concerns about or goals for my mouth, and they asked if I had any questions about their feedback. My experience was pleasant to say the least. I came in for a routine cleaning.
The staff was very friendly and professional. The office itself was decorated wonderfully for Halloween and made it feel very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and had amenities. The doctor himself was very nice and helpful. He made sure he explained everything to me in clarity and answered all my question very throughly. You can tell that he really enjoys his career and loves to help others. I will be returning for future cleanings and dental needs and highly recommend him to others. I am new to Arizona and so happy I found this dental office.
