Through the screening in the office, I found out (to my total shock) that I have sleep apnea! ----I also found out that many famous people have DIED from this (I received quite an education from Dr. Chicvak and his very knowledgeable staff!) So I came in today to have impressions taken for my Sleep Apnea Appliance; I was dreading this visit because I'm such a terrible gagger. However, Dr. Chicvak's assistant, Sinead, took my impression today; she was so gentle that for the first time in my life I DIDN'T GAG (not even a little!) I am delighted with everything about Dr. Chicvak, his office, and his amazing staff. If you're looking for the best dental experience of your life don't even hesitate to call them!

Dr. John Chicvak has over 25 years of experience in Dentistry. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from one of the most prestigious Dental Schools in the country, SUNY Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. He completed his General Practice Residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center as Chief Resident and has remained part of the North Shore/LIJ Dental Team as an Attending at both North Shore University Hospital and LIJ Medical Center.
Dr. Chicvak continues his lifetime love of learning by participating in extensive hours of continuing education programs each year for the benefit of his patients. He is a Graduate of the Dawson Academy for Advanced Dental Study and has over 1800 hours of continuing education credits.
Dr. Chicvak has been honored with numerous awards including Master of the Academy of General Dentistry, Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, as well as multiple Distinguished Service Awards from LIJ Medical Center. He has been honored as one of America's Top Dentists for Consumer Research Council of America consistently since 2007 and was ranked by his peers as one of New York's Top Dentists since 2012.

1 2 3 4 5I have been to many different dentists due to moving frequently and I can honestly say this was one of the best and most thorough visits I have had. It's always been difficult to find a great dentist but I truly believe that I have. My entire experience there could not have gone better. Dr. Chicvak and his staff turn what could be an unpleasant experiance into a pleasant visit to the dentists office that seems to fly by.
The doctor and his staff always consider my comfort to be paramount and are always verifying that there is no discomfort. I have had fillings & root canal work done with Dr. Chicvak and there was never an issue. i would highly recommend him for dental work.

Amazing office! Takes all the "old time fear" out of a dental appointment. The doctor, hygienist, and staff treat you like their only patient, explaining everything, answering all questions and making sure you are comfortable at all times. I understand they are now doing sedation dentistry! I've got to spread the word among my "dental phobic" friends!
