Dr. Joseph Akhikar graduated from Boston university school of dental medicine with High Honors. Dr. Akhikar completed the post graduate study and residency program in advanced education in general dentistry earning the Best Clinical Performance Award. He was awarded Diplomat of the American Dental Implant Association, and Diplomat of the International Congress of Oral Implantologist. He is the recipient of several awards and distinctions. He is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society and many more. He is the recipient of American Top Dentist award 2009, 2010, and 2011.
Dr. Joseph Akhikar has lived in the Chicago area since 2007. He feels strongly that there is no greater reward than improving the quality of someone’s life, and helping them to feel confident and happy with their healthy smile. In his spare time, Dr. Akhikar enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing soccer, and traveling.

Great visit with Dr. Akhikar. It was super easy to schedule with him ... Was able to get an appointment the next day as a new patient. I didn't have to wait when I got to his office ... Everyone was super nice and the dental hygienist did a great job with the cleaning. Dr. A was very professional and knowledgable. I'd highly recommend his practice!

Terrible service...they promised to fix a broken crown that was within the stipulated timeframe for free coverage but kept pushing it off as "its not necessary to get it done now" until after the timeframe and now want me to pay out of pocket!
There is a constant rotation of doctors at this place so the one you meet next time doesn't have to accept what the previous doctor offered.

The office is very clean and modern. There are Televisions in the rooms, which I appreciated. The staff was friendly and efficient. My hygienist was very gentle and did an excellent job with my cleaning. Dr. Akhikar is friendly and knowledgeable! Great experience overall.

From the little we saw the doctor / dentist - he seemed good. BUT as a family dentistry and with such a long wait (almost 45 minutes) - why aren't there ANY toys or things to do for the little ones? A couple of books, a drawing table in a corner, some lego - SOMETHING! Please see to this if you also want younger patients. Other than that, the staff was great.

GREAT dentist! Made sure I was comfortable, very knowledgeable and informative, made sure I understood what was going on. He's also very cost efficient and flexible. The receptionists were great with questions, competent to answer, and very patient focused. I didn't know I could enjoy the dentist's office, but now I do! DEFINITELY going back!
