This is the best practice we have ever been everyone is nice and helpful specially dealing with kids can be overwhelming sometimes. I will not see another dentist for kids as long they can visit there.

Dr. Stephenson, a native of the Caribbean island of Dominica, has called the DC Metro Area her home for many years.
In 2006 Dr. Stephenson received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Howard University. In 2007 she completed a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. During and after her residency she had the opportunity to work with the underserved children and special needs population in Florida and Washington, DC. This experience sparked a desire to specialize in the field of pediatric dentistry. In June of 2011 Dr. Stephenson completed her Pediatric Dentistry Residency at Howard University; where she held the position as chief resident, earning her the Pediatric Dentistry Award for Outstanding Leadership and Academics. In 2013 she became board certified in Pediatric Dentistry.
As one of five children, Dr. Stephenson values the importance of family and believes in treating every patient as if they are her own. She also strives to give her patients optimal care and the best experience possible at every visit by understanding the importance of patience and compassion. In addition, she enjoys traveling, the performing arts, and spending quality time with family and friends.

My children had a pleasant experience at their first visit with Dr. Stephenson. She and her team were very calming and patient while tending to my very nervous toddler. They also had a way of showing my preschooler how to embrace his bravery while sitting in the dentist chair. This was the first dental appointment where he was not totally afraid.

It was my 2 year old's first real trip to the dentist for a cleaning and the staff were absolutely wonderful. Not only were they able to keep him at ease, he actually left saying "that was fun!" Not sure if you can do better than that for a trip to the dentist! The facility is fabulous, as well.

This is a great pediatric practice. They do very well with kids, but the practice is not crazy with stuff as some pediatric offices can be. It is very clean (looks brand new!). Everyone with whom we interacted was extremely polite and friendly. My kid is 2.5 and went for his first visit. We couldn't have been happier with our experience.

My son is 2 and this was our first time. The visit could not have been better. The office is clean, they have a big fish tank and toys, and the hygienist and dentist showed tyler all the tools and toothpaste so he knew what was coming. They even had cartoons on the ceiling. It was just a very positive experience.

Dr. Stephenson is not only very professional but is also amazing with children. My children wanted to run away at the beginning but Dr. Stephenson knew how to deal with them. My son is a fan now. He always refused to use a fluoride toothpaste before, but finally adopted it because 'Dr. Stephenson says that this is good for my teeth'.

It seems this office is new in the area; they indicated they opened in August 2014. I was so glad I gave them a try! My daughter hates the dentist, and this has by far been the best dental visit she has ever had. They first gave her a tutorial on how to brush her teeth by actually having her brush her teeth with a dental assistant. Then they did x-rays and explained to her in an age appropriate way what x-rays do and let her see them. Then they cleaned her teeth and were very friendly and joked with her the whole way through. The doctor was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. My daughter will have to go for a follow-up, but unlike other dentists, they will only charge you the day of your visit, rather than in advance and only for what is incurred the day of. The office is spacious, clean, and colorful. I look forward to coming back.
